It seems the footballing world is not fooled by the Lansdown’s this time either. https://www.skysports.com/football/...om-only-issue-behind-veteran-bosses-departure
Do they realise how stupid they look. Did they really think anyone would be convinced by their antics, what a shambles. My club are run by a bunch of muppets, it is heartbreaking.
Ah, sorry. Sounds like NP had issues with quite a few people at the club then. Perhaps NP was the problem after all?
It certainly seems that way, by the reports, doesn’t show Tinnion in a good light at all, I think brown nose was the term used.
Great player for us has to be said, but after that I’m not a fan of Tinman.. Maybe he’s good with the academy but he sure talks sh!t when he’s co-commentator.. I prefer Akinson the odd time he’s stepped in, much more aware of how the game should be played.. I would definitely understand him and Nige not seeing eye to eye..
Same old club and the same old mess again and again make me wonder why the hell I support such a dysfunctional outfit. Like so many others over the years I have dreamt of one successful season where we actually won something that counted, other than some tin pot trophy. Here we are again wondering what the heck has just happened down in BS3 with another manager heading for the hills in quick order and for quite some time we will still be asking why was NP sacked? In all honesty I thought he could get the job done, as aspired by SL, but suits apparently decided otherwise and supposedly based their decision on the visible lack of improvement year on year. Other managers have arrived for the long term at Ashton Gate and achieved less but still kept their jobs for longer with no sign of improvement, so why did NP get treated this way? Many times on this site I have mentioned the mysterious happenings in the dark halls of Ashton Gate and yet again we know we will never know the real truth, mainly because some things need to be kept private, and also because Bristol City have to be one of the least communicative operations on earth. At least one thing is in our favour and that is timing as we usually leave messy things like sackings until it's too late for the inbound manager to do anything in the next transfer window. However if the Lansdown's decide to keep their money rather than support the obvious needs of the team then yet again the process of hiring will be just a token affair with little or no oomph. As long as it isn't Tinnion, Barton, Warnock, Allardyce or Ainsworth I don't give a flying pig about who they decide to hire because at the end of this season it may not matter much anyway as we have thrown away another season of discontent only to be followed by another next year.
I’ve read that Pearson’s available - probably a better punt than the other names being banded about…..
All I know is that B.T isn't the brightest of sparks, but higher in the pecking order by the Lansdown's opinion. Previous staff have left because of him. I'm just saying ......
What a shyster, first time I have really heard him express an opinion, he comes across as thick as two short planks, not very inspiring.
Moving on.. I do agree with JL in the style of football that we should look at going forward. It’s coming across to me that they didn’t think tactically that Nige could take us forward.. I must admit I had my concerns.. it’s a shame they couldn’t have persuaded Nige to have taken a role of DOF..
What style? What does it even mean? Bristol City had four and a half years where Lee Johnson played multiple styles and did not play on the front foot. It may be news to Jon Lansdown but the club was not playing one way through its academy to the first team, and It may also be news to Jon Lansdown but the club was not training to play through its academy to the first team either under Lee Johnson.
I’ve been watching every game and imo we play best when playing with high tempo and high press, this we applied in spells and looked dangerous and in control. The minute we allow other teams control we fall apart and lose concentration. We have most of our injuries to defensive players so to try and sit back is not playing to our strengths.. Even with a full squad we aren’t as good as we should be, coming from Nige’s background as a footballer it wasn’t good enough.. Not sure what Lee Johnson’s time with us has anything to do with it, it’s what we have now that counts..
