His turn of pace is fantastic, and his ball control allows him to really break through defensive lines and breakdown low blocks. He seems to be literally getting better game after game. I'm sure a large part of that is confidence after a poor year last year.

wtf is a low block? I’ve been watching football all my life never heard of that before? Is it related to the triple pivot?

Ok.

As Ric said, it's more a reference to teams that sit deep (thus 'low') meaning it's harder to get in and behind. Have you heard the term 'high line'? It's the opposite of that.

I really don’t understand why new coaches take an old concept “parking the bus” & give it a new name to show what a tactical genius they are. It’s lame BS

I don't know why you're fixating on the concept of something having both a technical and colloquial name.

It's not a new term..

Syd, you clearly don’t remember Major Frank Buckley talking about parking the bus in the 1930s

(But seriously, it’s a phrase invented by Mourinho I think, hardly part of Chelsea’s childhood football lexicon)

im not fixated by anything I just find it pretentious nonsense tbh.

can we stop calling them goals, it’s now OTL - over the line.
No longer called matches it’s now interplay

See it’s easy to do

I’ve also watched football all my life, played it since I was about 8 and I’ve also never heard any manager use the term low block before. I’m in my late 20’s so it’s not just the older generation that haven’t heard it. Sitting deep or parking the bus yeah, but low block nope.

Yeah no fixation at all, given the original post's intent has been completely lost in half a page of nonsense over a term.

I mean, I posted an article referring to it and there are plenty of others on Google for you to peruse. Since it's been established I didn't invent the term out of thin air and is a reasonably regularly used term in football, perhaps the excitement about it can be parked and the actual point discussed or moved on from?

Not saying it’s not used or anything, merely pointing out I’ve never heard the term that’s all.

Think he can be a lot better than that tbh. New Saka. There you go, I've gone there ;)

Nah. Different sort of player to Saka. He's Zaha Mk2 all day long! His tricks, his confidence, the way he uses his body, the way he obviously loves to take a man on, etc. I'd be amazed if Zaha wasn't a big influence on him. If he does as well as Zaha he'll have had a pretty good career; hopefully he does even better, and with us (dreaming I know).
