An improved performance. Probably our best team. The quality of Harwood-Bellis, Sulemana and S Armstrong really helps and that XI looked much better.

Still don't like it when we overpass it in front of the opposition not hurting them or overpass into trouble but it seems that's the way it will be.
I was watching one part of the game and we had the ball around the halfway mark. We passed it about 15 times for it to end up back at Bazunu. It’s quite tedious to watch

First half was excellent, played with the pace and purpose we've so dearly lacked for much of this season and Birmingham couldn't live with us.

Another really slow start to the second half which is something we need to address. It felt like their goal was coming for a few minutes before it did and I think a better side would have taken advantage. They pressed us more than the first half and we really struggled with it.

That said, by the 65th-70th minute we settled down and looked really comfortable, and I felt we'd have seen out 2-1 without too much drama even had we not scored.

Sulemana was excellent I thought and gave their right back (who was dreadful I thought) a torrid time. Also thought Adam Armstrong had a good game though should have made it 3-0 in the first half.

Decent atmosphere generally. Bizarre but brilliant to hear a loud rendition of "we're the chapel over here" and it's great to have songs being started from lots of different areas, makes for a much better atmosphere. Thought we largely stuck with the team well too during a tough period.

I managed to miss the rain both on the way to the ground and coming home which was a result.

Great day all round. Icing on the cake was seeing Marian at half time. Can tell he genuinely has huge feelings for the club. What a guy :emoticon-0152-heart

First half total domination. Couldn't have asked more.

Second half, concede a sloppy goal (not RM's fault), and Birmingham put on 5 or 10 mins of pressure. But then we really just slowed the game down very well, and killed any threat Birmingham had. Deserved to win by two goals.

Some of our passing was absolutely quality. Yes, the creativity in the second half wasn't really there, but with better finishing that would have been made comfortable much earlier.

Anyone who was happy for Stuie Armstrong to leave in the summer, hang your heads in shame. Architect level in this division.

And, finally, Aribo was really bloody good when he came on!
There weren't many on the forum from memory but I could be wrong!

Don't forget the part a small resurgence from B'ham played at the beginning of the second half. There was a 'not this time' conviction about the fans in the Kingsland North today, acknowledging the role we play in keeping the team going at moments like that.

There was a lot more possession with purpose with incisive passes and plenty of movement today and the points were thoroughly deserved. Frustrating to not get the clean sheet and being undone by a route one goal again but the team managed the second half well on the whole and the third was the icing on the cake.
Downes was my MOTM and his partnership with Smallbone is starting to look very good and it was great to see Charly score for his confidence.

This was actually pretty rare today. It happened twice in a row at one point and Bazunu let rip on the defence for not pushing forward. I thought that was a good sign.
