Time for a bit of morale-boosting.

Saints have 20 points from 12 games, and are more than a quarter of the way through the season. If we carry on at this rate, even allowing for a couple of bad runs like the 4 losses in a row, we will finish with around 76 - 80 points. In every single season that the Championship has existed this has been enough to make the playoffs. A couple of seasons 80 has been enough for automatic promotion.

Last time we were in the Championship in 2011-12, we were promoted with 88 points.
Personally, I don't think we'll have another run like the 4 losses we had. I believe Martin when he says we'll only get better as the season progresses. Sure, we'll draw games we should win and lose some games but our squad is nearly as good as Leicester's.

That's jinxed it then ;)

Don't worry. He wrote this on the Hull match thread:
So that's our latest good block of 4 games done. Our season seems to developing into a pattern where we have 4 good games followed by 4 **** ones. So we're ****ed for the next four. :emoticon-0106-cryin

He's counter-cursed himself. We're safe. For now.

I'm with Tom on this, progress is being made and players are blending Russball is evolving.

By the way is there any evidence for the jinx? Or is a figment of the forum's collective mind?

Off the top of my head the "Jordan Ayew never scores" one was a goodie.

Tom puts himself in the firing line by making a lot of hyperbolic statements and predictions. Most probably come true but there's obviously been a fair few that haven't, and they're the ones that stand out obviously.

I remember when Tom exclaimed Dominic Calvert-Lewin wasn't a threat before he rounded off a 3-1 win

I am interested to know why the highlights being put out on Saints official channels has the radio Solent commentary rather than the new “official” version (Wilding and Hammond)?

I find the Solent commentary far more preferable so I’m hoping it stays!

There seemed to be a problem with the broadcasting on Saturday. First half the picture quality was awful, and there was no commentary. When commentary finally came on I was getting the Hull lads rather than Hammond lol.

I do like that they don't think you just bring staff in when you hire a manager and that's the end of it.

Georgson and Calderwood have come in since, which suggests they are open-minded internally and keen to keep strengthening the collective skillset.
