Outside of my claim that Shota would be gone by October (which he was) I actually can't think of many examples where I've tooted my own horn too much about something I've posted, but feel free to point out some examples.

I don't mean that as a "we're unlucky" thing. I say it purely as an acknowledgement that we're not perfect and that I'm not saying we are; I just think our problems are in the execution at the top end, not in the build up. We only have ourselves to blame for our poor conversion rate. I get a feeling that we accept wasting opportunities too readily (especially early in games) because we think there'll always be more.

I remember a game against Preston last season where Pelkas messed up a great chance straight from kickoff and no one seemed to care that much, and it annoyed me and I thought I bet we regret that. Sure enough it ended 0-0 with us missing loads of chances. I got the same feeling in the Plymouth game when Philogene sat their full back down at the byline and then put an awful ball in which went out for a goal kick, and then Christie messed up at the end of a great run from deep, both within the first 3 minutes and both good opportunities, but again no one seemed to care because it's only the first few minutes. I want to see us putting teams to the sword like Ipswich did to us: couple of half-chances outside the area, brilliantly executed, you've basically won the game at that point and everyone says your style of play is brilliant, but really it's just that your execution in front of goal was very good.

Even the Plymouth commentator on Argyle TV commented how slow we are to get the ball forward, so did whoever was commenting on our game on talk sport on Tuesday.

Are they both part of the anti rose cliche posse too?

    Or just uneducated.

I agree the 2 goals they scored were well executed half chances, but notwithstanding. They completely blew us away, we couldn’t deal with them at all, and ended up crumbling under the pressure. We don’t really do that to teams, we have a bit of a spell where we create a chance or two and instead of turning the screw, we calm it back down and retain possession as a priority.

Ever think the blame on some games might be the forwrds ? Poor execution , slow to react , not moving into spaces , greedy wingers , lack of support - just wondering if that’s Rosie’s fault . Could be we bought and sold wrongly won’t know yet

Ultimately it is Rosenior's responsibility to sort it out. I defend him because I think he gets attacked from unfair angles but I do think there's no escaping that he needs to get our attackers to be more clinical, confident, composed, whatever it is, to score more goals from the positions we get into. I'm sure he knows this, and I trust/hope he'll get it sorted in time with the quality of players we now have.

There was a graphic recently that showed we're one of the slowest and most considered teams in attack (think I posted it in here or perhaps the Plymouth thread) so it can't be debated that we are a slower style team in general, however when you consider the company we keep in that quadrant of the graphic are Leicester and Southampton - two teams who will undoubtedly be competing for promotion this season - it's hard to argue it's a losing strategy. What we need though is to be more calculating and decisive in our passing and taking the opportunities when they present themselves. It's fine to be slow and decisive when it runs the opposition off their feet by passing them to death, but we also need to know when to pull the trigger.

Has anyone on here actually said they don't think we've had a good start?

So they haven't actually said we haven't had a good start, just that we could and maybe should have done better.... Stop trying to twist things to suit your agenda Syd

Not trying to twist things, just suggesting people who think we should have had a better start are probably thinking we haven't had as good a start as we should have had.

You asked the question, I answered it.
