Agreed. I don't see where the "arrogant" claim come in to things. He is articulate and concise. I'd much rather listen to Rosie than many of the so called pundits and experts on the game -including other managers. Ever had to listen to Paul Hirst...?

I remember complaining that Slater offered nothing and was undroppable.

I also remember those same people lamenting how much we missed him when he was out injured against Ipswich. Hm.

I think it's been a decent start, and although we do miss some chances, so does every other team we've played! Can't think of a game where we've completely outdone the opposition in terms of clear-cut chances created in comparison to them. I refuse to believe we create enough. They're fine margins, but even Wednesday, we relied on a pen and a Tufan wordlie to get us going - bristol city missed some huge chances, Haji Wright had a great chance against us for Coventry, Leeds lad in the first half when Alsop made a good save, and Norwich we got battered. Alright saying the difference is we don't take chances, but most teams we play will come away saying the same thing.

We are very slow, a lot of the time. Look how much faster we move the ball around when we need a goal and we look far more dangerous. We could do that more, we could do that earlier. That’s not a tired cliche, it’s a fact.

I did the quadruple with hull city on football manager 2007.

I have also finished runner up in division one on fifa seasons on fifa 15 I think it was.

I used to get picked first down the park.

I played for the year aboves team at school.

As you can see my CV is rather impressive.

The reason the threads go on so much longer when we lose is nothing to do with people being negative. It's because there's a nucleus of posters that seem to get offended by any form of critique against any part of the club. In this thread alone...

    'We've had that result coming'
'bet you couldn't wait to post that'

'Coyle should not start at LB'
'Rosie spends more time with the players than you do so you can't say that'

'Rosie got the selection all wrong'
'that complaint is too simplistic so it doesn't count'

    'We play too slowly'
'that's just the same old tired cliche'

I don't think anyone would hold an apparent pre-determined agenda if they can't fault someone, or something. I'm saying here, that I can guarantee nobody 'wants' us to fail, and it goes without saying they're allowed their opinion on the subject. If not on here then where?

Look at Sinik for example. He wasn't exactly flavour of the week last season, yet he comes on vs Ipswich, plays surprisingly well and has had nothing but praise for it. Where's the supposed negative witch hunt there?

You can't just be only positive, or only negative all the time. I remember saying after Wednesday we wouldn't be able to rely on worldies every week and I don't feel we create enough cut and dry chances... I still feel that way.

The poster in question agreed with me that he'd been thinking it for a while so not quite sure this one lands.

The whole concept of 'We've had that result coming' means whoever it was has been thinking it for a while. That's the whole point. However, the counter of 'bet you couldn't wait to post that' is the part that doesn't land. Surely you must understand that?

Again, it's firing off this suggestion that someone would rather see us lose or struggle.

Still struggling to see the basis of it being a result that's 'been coming'.

    Well it took 38 games.

The navel gazing about playing out and that we're begging to concede just isn't supported by the actual numbers conceded in that manner.

Because when people only post negatively even after wins and good performances, and then when we finally have a poor performance and they jump on here positively gushing over it, it's hard not to think they're happy to be vindicated?

The last line you wrote is the most hypocritical thing I've ever seen wrote on here. You're the worst for it by a country mile.

Nah, sorry, it's a cliche. Go look at the first few minutes of the Plymouth game and see if we're playing too slow. It's an easy thing to reach for when you're frustrated at a result after the fact.

We definitely don't score as many as we should. 100%. But it's not because of a lack of getting the ball forward into good areas, we do that better than most City sides in the recent past have ever done. It's because of what we do when we get to that final decision. If I had the access and time I could make a cut of 10 or 15 opportunities in that Plymouth game where we pissed up good opportunities whether it was Slater and Christie making stupid decisions, Traore blasting it miles off target, Philogene either doing the same or tapping it to the keeper, and it would show how ridiculous this idea that we don't get it forward is.

I know we're going round in circles but I just find it hard to accept people insisting this daft stuff is true when the evidence of the match that happens in front of us should be absolutely clear.

Haha I can't sit on the fence, I get splinters in my arse :)

Syd posts some good stuff ( when he isn't just looking for an argument) and always provides discussion whether I agree with his POV or not, but even he must be self aware enough to see that what he posted is just hilariously hypocritical
