    Leeds United v Bristol City
    Saturday 7th October@15:00hrs | Elland Road

Bristol City are the visitors to Elland Road on Saturday, as Leeds look to consolidate their play off position going into the International break.

The Robins are perched five places below the Whites, but only a solitary point separates the two teams. Nigel Pearson's men have had some good results on the road already this season, having won at Millwall, Swansea and more recently Rotherham, but face a disciplined Leeds side who have conceded just once at home in the last 360 minutes.

Leeds will be without Djed Spence, Junior Firpo, Stuart Dallas, and Wilfred Gnonto and are also unlikely to risk Jaidon Anthony after turning his ankle in the first half of Wednesday nights one - nil victory against Queens Park Rangers. Dan James stands-by.

Joe Rodon looks set to keep his place in central defence alongside Pascal Struijk with Ayling, Shackleton and Byram vying for two wing-back slots. Daniel Farke must decide whether he wants 17yo Archie Gray to start two consecutive matches in three days, or whether to recall Glen Kamara.

Patrick Bamford isn't far away from full fitness. He was given a 30 minute run out midweek, and will be hoping for more game time at the weekend. He holds a good record against the Robins, scoring twice in his last three matches against them.

Leeds have completed the double of Bristol City twice in recent times (2018/19 and 2019/20). Most recently Luke Ayling (February 2020) netted the only goal of the game, against the club Leeds had bought him from for £200,000 back in 2016.

Bristol City have only beaten Leeds once in their last sixteen games, though Manager Nigel Pearson is somewhat of a jinx as far as Leeds are concerned. He is unbeaten in nine of his eleven matches that he has been involved in.

Having crossed my palm with silver, read my Yorkshire tea leaves, consulted the oracle and then rolled some dice, I can conclusively say the score will be Leeds United 2 Bristol City 1.

Once my glory hunters team back in the 70s with the likes of Hunter, Cooper, Lorimer, Giles, Clarke etc.....what a side!! Hope it's a great game, I'm expecting a loss, so anything more would be a bonus IMO..
What ever happens, best of luck for the rest of the season..

We did win though? And dominated? We just didn't quite hit the target.

I also predicted the win at Anfield last season.

You know me Doc, I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but were eleven points off the top with far inferior goal difference. Were not remotely near being in touch whether we win or lose <doh>

Not been on here for a long time

We would be 5th if we didn’t bottle a 2-0 against Stoke, bloody Stoke everyone beats them then they play us.

Should be a good game like usual and we actually have a quality striker who can bag goals. Pearson slowly building us a solid and competitive team finally.

Championship football is becoming harder to predict - especially where we are playing.
We rip Plymouth apart - who then go and stuff Norwich.
We lose to Stoke, after being 2-0 up in the first 20 minutes and well in control <steam>
We then beat Rotherham after an utterly dire performance…….
    It’s a funny old game.
I’d take a draw from this game, but I fear a defeat is more likely.
One thing Leeds do NOT need to worry about is conceding us a penalty - we NEVER get them, so they can hack down and wrestle any of our players who enter their box free from any concern, because the referee always seems to be on a group chat with the linos on their phones when those incidents occur, so they are always missed - and if by some miracle any of our players manage to fight through the melee and get a shot off, their defenders can parry away any threat with confidence that it won’t be punished.
It does seem to give our opponents a slight advantage…..<laugh>

Good luck after Saturday. I must make the effort to visit Leeds one day - seeing as half my family originally came from there a few generations ago!

... one advantage is that we don't need to waste training time practicing taking them and are free to concentrate on other areas <laugh>

    What a side !
Probably the best side never to win the European Cup.
Any of you Leeds fans remember the infamous West Brom game ?
