Power is a powerful drug - the more you take the more you need to take. For some people enough is never enough. It took well into old age for Murdoch to hand over the reigns of power.
On the contrary. Of course it is Boris etc fault and its a fact that they are manipulated by tax dodging billionaires. This isn't a conspiracy theory lol. You and others admit and know how much lying and corruption goes on yet you turn a blind eye to it and seem easily led. But hey ho. Moderna as a case in USA received 10 billion dollars in tax payers money and made 19 bil Again, schools. The NHS and the fabric of society are being ruined yet some still pay no tax and are earning even more through it. That is fact .
Of course I turn a blind eye, dont patronise me. I know how it all works and am smart enough to realise it will never ever change so happily get on with enjoying my life despite it all ... ... you might choose to agonise about it all and think you can make a difference but you're just fooling yourself. I remove myself from their world because I know it's unchangeable, you're dragged into it and can't help yourself. Apart from being sanctimonious, on here, what do you actually do to change things ... ... absolutely f**k all is my guess. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
That is quite depressing mate. Sounds like we are bolloxed and so are our kids. I refuse to believe I cant have an impact. Maybe I am fooling myself, like you say, but I refuse to be so defeatist. I might fail to have any impact, but I am going to try my bit. I engage with local councillors and politicians. I volunteer and make a difference in my community. I take part in campaigns directed at things I dont like. Impacts so far are local community focussed, but better than nothing for me. For me I couldnt sit and criticise politicians and media without at least trying to make my own small contribution against what I dislike. Just my view, and maybe pointless, but I get a small sense of satisfaction from taking what action I am able. I am not suggesting I am influencing billionaires, but I am influencing those at a level I can, on a local level, and believe the more that happens the more 'trickle up' will occur and some will see the good they can do. I have seen some tiny wins in big IT companies as a result of opinion. We can but try.
This is a complex situation and I've had a drink so, although I know what I totally believe, can't be sure I can explain it now. So I'll leave it until tomorrow.. I could blurt out what I think but, you've been earnest and sincere, so I owe it to you to take the time to explain carefully.
Hang on, you said it was all conspiracy theories before I don't agonise about it. But talking about what is going on is at least a start rather than pretending it isn't there. That never makes anything go away. People are getting more pìssed off with it hence the strikes etc. Sanctimonious ? Lol, you need to take a long hard look at yourself fella
What you need to remember is that what you're talking about is nothing more than your opinions many of which are based on guesswork ... ... if you think posting fictional facts on chat forums makes any difference to anything you're deluded. You claim that everything that happens is done deliberately to make the rich even richer whether it's the emergence of a virus to the crashing of the economy. It's not deliberate, it's just that the wealthy take advantage of situations as they always have.
Even if we accept this line of reason, that it's all circumstantial, it's still evil and should be resisted.
Or.......just reconcile yourself to the fact that unless you're in a position to change things or resist these money grabbing parasites, then just get on with it...life is way too short to worry about things we can do sod all about.
Fair enough, you're free to think and act that out anyway you see fit, if others see it differently, is that a problem? Should they be stopped? If not, what's the problem?
The problem, sometimes, is when people are labelled as gullible mugs who are brainwashed by the media ... ... I really get tired of being told 'that's what they want you to think'. If people are so keen to change the world they should just crack on instead of having interminable arguments on chat forums. You have to ask yourself, if these mysterious powers actually control the media and information why do they allow Internet whistle blowers to bust their cover and bring their empire down.
I see Northern Ireland are introducing anonymity for those accused of sexual assault until they're formally charged.
It's a genuine question. I'm always being told that the government are simply puppets controlled by a clique of billionaires and that they control the media and what we're told. So, if the government and 99% of the population and manipulated by these people ... ... why do they allow the likes of Brand, and other Internet 'whistle blowers', to get away with calling them out?
The problem with the UK is we are all brought up to follow the status quo so we do what is expected of us and put almost blind faith in the elected officials (this is a generalization and not a statement of everybody) when we do have uprisings it is generally explosive and short and we call them riots which for me is not quite correct. When discontent of nations boils over it is normally seen in the poor/working classes first as normally these are the most exploited people and are seen by those in power as the easiest to manipulate and control due to poor education and lack of resource. This is why you get the booing of national anthems and such, this is an indication of the dis-enfranchised masses. It can be hard to wriggle free when your oppressors boot is on your neck but in the UK we seem to be more easy going than say the French and when we do fight back like in the Mineworkers strike the government will put us down as quick as they can for fear that the people will unite. Just before covid it was announced that there would be an investigation into the deaths at the Orgreave picket line which has now gone away as it would be an embarrassment for the conservative party when it would come to light that the government used our own troops to police the picket lines and ordered attacks on the miners. there was the poll tax riots where police and army confronted protesters and there are more instances with race riots in other cities. I live a comfortable life and have no real complaints but I guess that is the problem in the UK. If you cause trouble you are branded and shunned as an outcast and it is hard to get the general public to listen to what you have or need to say without somebody digging in to your past to discredit you and then you will think what is the point and why did I try. I think it was Che Guevara who said show me a terrorist and I will show you somebody else's freedom fighter.
Not sure if anything I said in my post suggests I am urging others to "just get on with it"...its pretty much me, I am saying what I do. If others want to spend their life knotted up and let events totally out of their control eat them up like a cancer..then fair enough, crack on, its just not for me. So, to answer your question....No problem.
Some Marxian types will say we live in a White Supremacist society, yet if that was so, wouldn't active measures be taken to remove all black and brown people? Infact they would never have been permitted to come here at all. The truth is, the people in charge are a tiny minority, they rely on a number of factors such as people's innate individuality, weakness for money, lobbying, pressure etc There are people who have reached such a level of wealth that no material possession matters and they wish to remake world, this is unfathomable to alot of people because they're stuck in the daily grind, but that's where they want you, just be good little cattle and keep consuming, keep your blinkers on, keep viewing things through a materialist lens.
