Exactly.

I was looking at the Wrexham team yesterday thinking ya know what, that was us. They’ve bought players like McLean, fletcher etc who are right at the end of their careers and hoping for the best.

Great signings if you're making the documentary mind, they'll guarantee a bit of drama.

Jurassic Parkinson will be on his way before too long.

Should the summer thread be halted now and a new January transfer window signing commence.
Then everyone including the local w*nk ITK journo's can predict the 400 players were linked with and get sweet FA right again<laugh>.

At the start of the next window we should repost this link to remind us what any prospective players have to consider. It's not just about whether they like the manager, or whether they have mates in the squad, there's their partner, children and entire lifestyle to consider.

We have to accept that, however much we might like it, the NE just doesn't suit players and their families ...

... this may be the answer to the question 'Why didn't the club sign Simms/Broadhead/Sanderson'.

They came, they saw, they conkered.

"Burnley manager Vincent Kompany praised Townsend for how he performed during his time at the club but a successful summer in the transfer market that saw the likes of Luca Koleosho, 22, and Zeki Amdouni, 19, move to Turf Moor, forced a rethink.

"If I was bad and knew I wasn't going to get a contract I could prepare myself. But to be looking at houses, looking at schools, talking about squad numbers and then to be told the contract is no longer on offer, it rocked my world," said Townsend.

"I argued my point, put my case forward. That I offer something different, that I'm comfortable being a squad player and good around the squad even when not playing."

Oh and BTW Simms and Sanders were never coming back, no matter what the journos say.
TM knew and accepted that.

I'm just using those players as examples Bob, I could've posted anyone ...

... the point is that these things are incredibly complicated, only a very few at the sharp end really know what's going on and that things can change dramatically in the last minutes of the window.

In the case of Townsend even he didn't know.

Your right, last year we had 2 players agreed on terms done medicals and last minute 1 pulled out the other the club said no to in the end.
I told 6 people over the road they were joining in PM, I got pelters for saying things change.

Money mate plain and simple

Quite often 'money' is used as an easy excuse that everyone accepts.

It's simpler than the club saying they just don't like the player's attitude ...

... or the player having to admit his girlfriend has stamped her feet and refused to go with him.

Miles off it
lazy
Even if you combined them they wouldn’t make a good striker
Not good enough for the under 21’s

just some of the comments on Hemir and Burstow on “other forums”

I just hope this doesn’t carry over onto the suport around the pitch or they will be written off before they’ve even started

It's easy moaning when it's free and you don't have to move your sad arse out of your comfy chair ...

... people who go to games are investing time, effort and money so mostly give their support.

Not fully supporting an experienced 32 year old player coming into a club is one thing, doing that with a kid who may never have even been to Sunderland before is very poor imo.

Failing to really encourage them isn't likely to attract any more, in the next window, and that would really hurt the club ...

... so indirectly ourselves.

If a young lad, from your family, had gone to play in Europe you'd hope people would have a little patience and fully encourage them ...

... it would be shameful if they didn’t and you'd be furious.

And we don't want any enraged relatives, from France or Portugal, coming over to get us <laugh>

Exactly mate.

We were doing ok without strikers, it wasn’t ideal but we were doing fine. We’ve bought strikers with potential, not ready made but that’s alright because the team is quite high functioning anyway so we can afford to bring them on.

Saying that Rusyn is pretty exciting going of his work in the U21’s last night.

Not on a reported 50K+ a week you can't i'd say

Any news on Aji return?
After the international break seems to be the latest update. Think Mogga said he's out on the grass but not training with the main group.

Cirkin back then too

Maybe sooner:

“Aji is a couple of weeks away,” added Mowbray. “He’s on the grass, not joining in, doing it with physios, kicking a few balls, running around a few cones. Two weeks.
