Martin out?

Hmm in hindsight maybe selling all our DMs and replacing them with a child wasn’t the smartest move in such a tough league.

Who could possibly have predicted that? We are run by absolute clowns.
It was clear we needed a Romeu replacement last year. Lesson not learned.

He said after the Sunderland debacle that 10 points from 5 games was promotion form. Well its 10 points from 8 games now - what`s his assessment now, I wonder ?

Yeah, I’m sure we’re the club he’s been waiting for.
Glad you agree!
How are you sure he wouldn`t be interested ? He`s out of a job, and an underperforming club with resources and infrastructure in place seems ideal for a coach with proven credentials to come to, improve, and thereby enhance his reputation.
If I were SR, I would hope we are already sounding out replacements for Martin, and Potter would be one of those to be sounded out.

The thing is, is that it doesn't have to be a big name.

Ipswich Kieran McKenna or Preston's Ryan Lowe are not big managerial names but are managing teams on a small championship budget extremely well.

Their teams are well organised and playing with confidence.

It is inexcusable that we can't keep a clean sheet and look so disorganised and broken in defence and going forward.

RM must be in the last chance saloon now, with a half empty glass. Get someone, big name or not who can sort this out.

Yeah and just to expand on this, when Ryan Lowe left Plymouth for Preston, Argyle promoted his assistant coach, Steven Schumacher to manager. He guided Argyle to promotion to Championship. They are a well organised team of journeymen. Yesterday they beat Norwich 6-2 with one Morgan Whittaker scoring a hat-trick.

Fun fact: Whittaker was sign by Argyle last season from Swansea for a club record fee of £1m. I'll leave it up to you to work out which Swansea manager deemed him not to be Championship level.

Brilliant. So we can add ‘unable to spot & nurture talent’ to his list of “attributes” as well

“If it’s not broke don’t fix it” springs to mind. We know what can happen when coming up from League 1 with a lot of momentum and belief and not too many changes to the team can do. Ipswich are the same in that they haven’t added too many new players and all the players have been playing together for awhile and know their roles.

Martin is trying too much too soon and it isn’t working. My Leeds mates are already predicting our 9-0 annual result next weekend

I do wonder whether the club is so down in the ****ing dumps that it will take an high profile appointment to lift the gloom. Jones followed by Martin has just compounded the ‘huh? ‘
Hassenhutl brought some excitement. Maybe that’s what’s missing, players and fans alike will follow someone who has proven they know what they are doing rather than just saying they know what they are doing.
sick of saying ‘I really want xx to succeed but i just don’t see it’

I do fear that we may have missed the boat there though.

A PL club in threat of relegation in November is more attractive than a PL club in threat of relegation in February. A PL club in threat of relegation in February is more attractive than a newly relegated PL club. A newly related PL club is more attractive than a mid-table Championship club in September/October.

Not to mention the fact that the summer is invariably when the highest number of managerial options are available.

I have read all you comments withn interest guys and everything you are saying is everything we have been saying here in swansea for 2 years. I couldn’t believe that a club like yours actually went for him and actually paid money for him. Thought you could have done a lot better and hope you rid yourself sooner rather than later. Mind you we look to have messed up with our replacement for him as well. Good luck for the rest of the season.

Lose the next 2 games and they will sack the manager so I predict in 2 games time mr will be gone!
Trouble is every facet of the club is a mess.
Awful miss matched squad with no leaders.
Shame as their was a positive mood at the start of the season and it's turned real bad. It's a real mess isn't it.

There's a very instant way to get your new manager back on track, and it comes with guaranteed proven success - but unfortunately for you you'll have to wait until Boxing Day.
