I always want Britain to be something to be proud of.

I've defended us while living in France, Italy and Monaco, now Scotland.

I have to say, I'm ashamed.

The idea people have of rich Tory apologists is sadly correct.

They're beyond defensible unless you're one of them or totally gullible.

To me at the moment everything they touch turns to s hit, but truthfully I think all politicians at the moment are abysmal. I can only name 2/3 Labour MPs and 1 Lib Dem ( and I’ve already forgotten his name ) that’s sad for me mate 20/30 years ago I could probably name most of them.

I observe the policy of criticising the current administration, always have ...

... they're the ones saying they're in power and who will improve our lives.

This current outfit have been an absolute disaster since Boris Johnson conned his way into power.

I've no idea what the next lot will be like ...

As the feeling is growing so much towards not voting , the old swingometer is going to have an easy shift this time ! I think my main reason if I sit up to watch it will be to see if it breaks the record low turnout

Your posting belies your suggestion that you haven’t chosen a side though.

There's more than enough screaming about the Tories. We all know they're dead men walking. I'm interested in the next government. Are we going to accept 'exactly the same but red rosette' in a race to the bottom or are we going to keep getting after a government until they all sort their act out.

If you're happy with the same **** because it's your side doing it, you're part of the problem.

Like wise, many of my family have said they will not be voting, l have decided l will vote if there is an Independent candidate.

Monty Python would have had a field day with the shower of MP's in the Commons today.

It would be great to see a huge surge in independent candidates. That's where the tactical voting option really lies imho. If we can return a big enough number of independents for the big parties to need their support to get anything through or oppose anything, we might get a bit more consideration and cooperation.

I did see in the May council elections that many independent candidates were voted in.

Boston in Lincolnshire now has an independent run council, so it maybe the way forward.

That’s scary to think someone’s going to get power even though possibly 60 70 or even more % of the population don’t support them .

Yet the people who decide not to vote are quite often the ones who complain about the state of the government and the economy (few of my mates are like that).

Said this before but not voting for reasons such as "they are all as bad as each other" or "the other party might just be as bad" is the definition of madness,

... improve the wellbeing of the nation, safeguard the NHS and other public services and provide decent basics of clean water, education, work, affordable fuel and care for the needy.

Not a lot to ask for really.

Exactly, should be every mp’s starting point and set in stone, but unfortunately soon as they get their foot in Westminster they seem to get all high and mighty and forget their constituents
