We could be, but we aren't. We have an owner who says he wants promotion. Hence the expectations ( rightly so ) are that signings would be ones that could/should achieve that. I'm just not seeing it unfortunately. But I'll but extremely happy to be wrong
I am interested. I’m happy to judge them once they have played some competitive football. There’s pages questioning the quality of what we’ve signed or not signed, when nobody has even seen them play.
Obligation to buy, rather than option, according to the French sports papers (though there's a chance that's a Google Translate issue).
I don't see it that way at all. Totally agree with AY saying "I would have kept him here and would much rather see him play out wide over the likes of Tufan, Traore or Slater. Specially if the full backs are Coyle and Greaves. But he needs to play." Rosenior has clearly had his favourites whom he would rather play out wide out of position instead of playing specialists in those roles. Where exactly are the players we've brought in that give us this strong squad that allows us to release Longman? We might end up with Philogene (IF it's concluded) and Lokilo, other than that it looks like we will continue with square pegs in round holes as we don't have the depth (and that's also IF Rosenior selects Lokilo out wide ahead of players who aren't really wingers). Him moving could equally illustrate that Millwall, who as you say just missed out on playoffs, see the value in Longman. Hope he does well at Millwall; seems like a good lad with potential that we should have been developing imo, even if it was as a back up for now.
That would change things. There was talk of a 2m loan fee too, so 7m all up for him would be much more in line with where I saw his value at.
fair enough that’s a more balanced response which explains your thoughts better. Makes sense need to reserve our judgement.
