I have no idea of offers on the table at any club, but several of our signings are players that are very well respected in the division, have proven records in the division and have led to fans of other clubs asking how the hell we've landed them.

Feel free to show me where fans how been asking how the hell we've landed players? And bar allsop, who's got a proven record in this division? Delaps record in the division is poor, twines played 14 games in this league before coming to us. Vinagre played has played 9 I think in this league, Connolly approx 18 games, lokilo 0 games, none of those records bar the GK are proven records in this division and so far they are who we have signed. They all have potential to be good players at this level but none are proven

As much as anything else, the Longman deal sums up how far we've come in the last few months. He was starting a lot for us last season and most fans agreed he wasn't good enough. Now he's so surplus here thanks to the players we've brought in, that we can offload him, and to illustrate how strong our squad is, it turns out Millwall, another club who just missed out on the playoffs, actually want him in their squad.

So an almost-playoff side thinks that our no longer needed castoff can improve them. What does that say about the level of our attacking options now?

I would have kept him here and would much rather see him play out wide over the likes of Tufan, Traore or Slater. Specially if the full backs are Coyle and Greaves. But he needs to play.

There’s been loads of comments from rival fans after the Twine/Philogene deals. Also saw some after we signed Vinagre. One of the big championship pages did a poll on which club had the best window and we finished 3rd after Stoke and Birmingham

Where are we with just over 10 hours left in the window...

* City working hard to get Philogene deal ratified

* A deal to sign James Furlong from Brighton is close

* Tyler Morton deal progressing well

* There could be a late surprise as the day wears on

* Departures expected including Oscar, Fleming and maybe one or two more...

Fair play, I don't really look at other fan pages etc so honestly didn't know. I just go on people I talk to in the industry at other clubs etc and nobody is really mentioning us as doing anything spectacular in the market

Furlong has 1.2 key passes a game over his career vs Huddlestone only having 1.

He also only plays 1.4 long balls per game vs Huddlestone’s 5.7 so he will fit into our system better.

Furlong gets an assist every 215 minutes vs Huddlestone getting one assist for every 1175 minutes.

In terms of defence, Furlong makes 2.5 tackles per game vs Huddlestone’s 2.

In short, Furlong is a far better player than Huddlestone ever was.
And he'll go the extra mile...

I'll grab my coat:emoticon-0148-yes:

The disappointment comes from the promise that we will be getting five new players through the door (on top of Delap, Twine etc) that would give us a chance at pushing us from a team pushing top 10 to a team capable of pushing top 6.
LR has encouraged/fuelled that expectation.
With 9 hours to go and what we know at the moment, I don’t see the incomings/outgoings resulting in that top 6 push

Just quoting this because it's the most recent post on the subject, but there's dozens it applies to. But what a weird discourse it is that's developed over this summer. We've signed/are signing multiple players with promotions from this level, players that other clubs are looking at and asking how the hell we've got them. Players like Morton who played all season at Blackburn finishing just outside the playoffs and instead of going back there he's coming to us.

Considering where we finished last season, for all these players to want to come here instead of other clubs is incredible. We've done a brilliant job of selling our ambition, seemingly to everyone except our own fans, some of whom are just absolutely determined to be unhappy this summer. We've had a good start to the season but even that isn't really acknowledged, we only talk about the points we have dropped. It's so, so weird. I wonder what it'll take to convince people.

Did Blackburn even want him back?

Most of our business this summer has been players nobody else wanted that Rosenior has previously worked with or loans for players who didn't get much game time or had a unremarkable season last year. None of the loans have options to my knowledge so it's probably more a case of them going somewhere they'll get the most game time and use us a stepping stone. Barring potentially Philogene, we haven't actually signed anyone new who has committed their future to us for the foreseeable that would actually improve us.

As ST said there's often things quickly changing. The club could have kept things a bit more quiet but the issue is that people keep asking so they're damned if they do and damned if they dont.

So what? If I heard a rumour that my workplace was having redundancies this morning and I may or may not lose my job, I'd still worry about it. Same way if supporters hear rumours from a source close to the club that we're losing a key player with no replacement lined up on deadline day.

Out of interest how many loans to championship clubs have options? I dont get this fascination against Loans. Yes it would be nice to own every player on our books especially high performers but it just doesn't work like that anymore

Rosie said he was excited by what was happening and everything would fall into place come the end of the window.
If them 3 signings excite Rosie then I can only imagine the disappointment of his mrs on their wedding night

It must just be me but I am pretty happy with the business we have done so far this summer. Clearly players will be leaving and I don’t see it as a good idea to let Oscar go if there are no replacements in place. Overall the players we are linked with sound good options and I think the club is being well run at present. We have to be realistic though and without the parachute payments we are shopping in a whole different market to the top teams in this division I do feel though that when the window shuts we will be stronger.
