xG depends on the methodology employed by that particular company and different organisations xG figures vary pretty wildly.

Bottom line is that we forced more saves than we've been forced into in 3 of the 4 games we've played.

every xG site I've seen had Bristol City in the range of 3 to about 3.6. I agree there's often variance but they created more quality chances we just had a couple more real high quality ones

Bristol City and Norwich had way more chances than us in the respective games. We have also as a team had the most shots against us in the league which is a huge concern

I said something like this the other day. We concede a lot of chances under Rosenior. Biggest reason is because the midfield is bypassed and the opposition are allowed to get close to our box too much. Bristol City missed two open-goal sitters iirc plus that spell where they kept taking shots in or around our box that took some great saves by Ingram and blocks by our defence to keep them out.

Goals conceded doesn’t tell the whole story. It was like this all last season under Rosenior as well.

5 of their shots in about a minute were closed down and blocked within a yard of leaving their boot, but they were hardly high quality chances - did probably make their xG look better if they fell marginally in the box though - I didn't feel in danger from that passage of play at the time though and still don't watching it back.

They missed 2 sitters, I'll grant you that, but then so did Conolly and Jones hit the post for us, so I'm just not having this narrative coming from Pearson that they should have won. We shaded it in every aspect but it could have gone either way on the night.

I would need to check but I recall it being much better under Rosenior last season. It is a change in the system to allow more attacking fluidity that is the crux of the issue. Some tweaks to the midfield would probably stem the tide

Kalman doesn't look at the last 28 games form last season. Won't have it that we were actually pretty decent and the form in Sept er and October had a massive effect on the eventual league finish.

Lost 7 in 32 but the way some are going on its as if Liam was Shota mk2.

We’ve not played with a winger yet this season, which for a 433 formation is fairly essential. If that’s a inverted or normal winger is another question.

Lokilo and Philogene seem to be fairly direct. Twine can get to the byline or cut in when played there also, but we need to judge it when we know what the squad is going to be after next weekend and after a few games when we've actually seen how he's going to set us up.

We've got potentially half a team still coming in which is why I'm questioning the legitimacy of the prophecies of doom which seem to be forthcoming despite a respectable start.

I had a look. Out of all the games under Rosenior there were about 4 with a distinct difference against us. Honestly I know we are crying for some more midfield stability but a lot of our chances conceded to me feel like when we are caught in transition. I very rarely recall (other than the Norwich game) where teams were passing through our lines at will when we are in a decent shape.

Because Rosenior seems to favour this 3-2-5 set up when attacking it does leave gaps. I would hope they have spotted this and are tweaking it. Leicester will be a good test as they set up incredibly similar and are having similar issues to us when I've spoken to their fans. I watched their game against Rotherham and would have been fooled to thinking they were Hull City in blue. Only difference is they're grinding it out.

They did seem to make hard work of Rotherham, but still see.next week as a free hit for us. I'd be very surprised if they weren't in the mix for automatics - could possibly win the league at a canter if they can get their quality to really shine.

Yes I do. We still conceded lots of chances against us during Rosenior’s games last season.

I agree they'll be fine. Like Burnley last year they'll iron out the issues and probably kick on through winter. Their squad depth alone will get them through the slog of fixtures. As others have mentioned in here its probably all 3 going back up unless Norwich continue their start and ruin the fun

Why is it a free hit for us, it's a 3 point game like every game no free hits, we have a good team need bit of help from the club with who is coming in but i still expect to go get 3 points, we have a habit of taking points off the big clubs and not so many from the lower end, we have got points of Blackburn away unlucky at norwich to concede that goal we could have taken 4 points from 2 fairly big clubs away from home.

Anything can happen in football, but I'd take a point now all day long. I'm sure Leicester wouldn't mind.

i would'nt settle for a point now before it is even played i would like all 3 points even if some think a point is a good deal.

If they play their best and we play our best then all things being equal they'll expect to win.

But football is a low scoring game with a huge element of chance, so you're right that anything can happen on the day.
