It's clear to see the philosophy LR has towards signings and team building is different to what we did last summer and personally, I do find it exciting and think we've done some good business. Don't mistake that for getting ahead of myself and thinking we are sure to be in the promotion race, we may or may not be, the championships like that but I am more than happy with just improving on last year and building a good young side that can be developed.
From Villa boards. "Apparently they want another on a permanent with Philogene. Imagine it can only be Archer, Bogarde or Ireogbunam." "Or Hause or Davis" "I think it be davis. He would be a great signing for them" "Forgot they existed for a second there! Yeah that would work better for me. £7-10m Philogene and Hause/Davis would probably be a great window for them" "Or traore "
Just a thought, there has been talk of an imminent big sponsorship deal in the offing, I just wondered if that has any bearing on these signings being funded?
If we are looking for someone from Villa that can play defender or midfield a name that has popped up is Sebastian Revan
Am I the only one who has never heard of Philogene, and therefore does not think he is of socks-blown-off calibre?
I think in truth not many of us have, When it was mentioned yesterday I went on the villa forum and they had around 70 pages on him, the last few about him coming here. He had a lot of good reviews so that to me says something. Until I see him in action then I can’t judge but to me it seems very promising that we are signing a decent player according to villa fans. L. R seems to be adding pace to the forward line but let’s not forget he still needs to be signed yet.
I feel like this other Villa signing can only really be Iroegbunam, it’s the only one that makes sense with what we need. If it is, that’s another cracking signing on a permanent
He's out injured for a while though. I think it might be Davis and it'll allow Oscar to leave for a reasonable fee

Never heard of him, but had a fair few games for his age. Playing for WBA/Villa at 17/18/19yo isn't a bad sign
Philogene and Davis are really two great signings, along with Twine these really are a statement of intent.
Davis, Delap, Connolly as out and out strikers. Twine, Traore, Tufan as players who can play in behind. Hopefully Philogene and Rak-Sakyi on the wings. I’d be disappointed if we don’t get play offs
