In the last 12 months they have received £300m in player sales. Add TV money, prize money, sponsorships etc I'd call that sustainable
thats from accounts ending 18 months ago. theyve since made quarter of a billion.
Fair points but to get to this point they Tony Bloom has forked out over £400 million of his own money and not taken a penny back.

That's not sustainable in anyones eyes, even the Brighton fans in the comments say at some point he will have to start getting repaid some of the money.

If he died tomorrow and his surviving family members didn't fancy carrying it on and wanted the money back Brighton would be fubar.

You can't look at their income that's only this last 12 months and ignore the past.

As fans we can't have it both ways, the majority agree we can't be relying on owner funding and Brighton always get mentioned, then when people suggest our owner puts his hand in his pocket they are shot down as its not sustainable

Look at Leicester before and after the helicopter crash.

Sustainability does not mean not investing, and KLD has invested in the clubs infrastructure, which is needed in order achieve long term goals

It all comes down to trust from KLD for me, does he trust the recruitment team with investing in a more expensive asset (player) and Tony to develop that asset sufficiently

Long term forecasting and business cases (and therefore cash flow) ultimately depend on probabilities. Most clubs are probabilising 2 things in order to determine a budget

1) what division will we be in
2) what player sales will we achieve

The players we have spent money on this summer have definitely been with number 2 in mind not 1.

mince your in the premier league both 1 and 2 results in significantly more cash in therefore making sustainability achievable, I’m not convinced it is for a club our size in the championship

We’ll see how risk averse KLD is in the next couple weeks

All fair points, but whenever investing, spending money etc is mentioned then the model and sustainability is brought up. This last 2 weeks FFP has been rolled out as a reason we don't spend.

Then Brighton get mentioned as shining examples of the model and the vast sums of money thrown at it previously are ignored.

At some point every owner be that of Brighton, Brentford, Luton, Southampton etc have chucked money at their club to get them to the next level

Edit. If it comes to KLD trusting the recruitment then you have to say he does otherwise they aren't doing their jobs properly

I dont think it's the recruitment he's not keen on,

christ some of these teams were in league two how they have risen compared to us heading back to league one with this lot in charge. This is pathetic, another shambles just like Murray and Short will they ever learn ?

Look at the three clubs who've been relegated from the PL.

Leeds who won the league, have excellent support and went on a massive spending spree that almost sank them.

Southampton who we were told we should emulate, had masses of talent that they sold off and wasted the money.

Leicester who recently won the title, had some truly top class players and saw it all disintegrate.

All three either went bankrupt or close, lost their quality players, dropped to the third division or were involved in thinly veiled fraud ...

... meanwhile we look like a proper foot ball club with 99.9;% of supporters who aren't deranged <laugh>

I think he would have, if the reaction to the news they were talking to others wasn't so vocal at the end of last season
If KLD doesn't trust the coach and hasn't replaced him because of reactions on social media then you have to question if he has thick enough skin to be owner.

I can't believe he has made the decision to keep a head coach because of comments on the Internet, that's mental

it won’t have been purely public opinion, the guy actually did a good job last season, if
Anything KLd is putting his personal preferences aside for the good of the club.

Yet 2 posters this morning have inferred that KLD doesn't trust the coach so it's holding us back on signings?
