I saw one on a supporters FB group saying its crazy we havent signed either wickham or waghorn as an experienced CF

Said waghorn had a good goal scoring record at rangers, pretty sure that was almost 10 yrs a go lol

That Hindmarsh clown twisting about him already on twitter. Sign a 6’4 striker just to moan about him pressing then sign a smaller striker who will press from the front and he’s twisting again. Can’t win.

Genuinely just an idiot. I sit in the south stand so I hear some ****e as it is but some of them on twitter are next level. Personally I think it’s exciting that we’re scouting players all over the world rather than just the British Isles. I have my gripes about us scrimping on wages and I think Speakman could do a brilliant job if we gave him a decent chunk of money to throw at transfers but I don’t think anyone can complain about the type of players we’re watching.

Couldn’t agree more mate, I used to sit south stand but sick to death of being showered with warm Carling in the concourse so sacked it off to dodge flares in the north stand instead :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I keep seeing people saying 'this player' is outside our purchase structure or 'that player' would exceed our wage limits ...

... does anyone know what either of those things are.

A rough idea would be fine, thanks.

I can give you a guess, probably wrong but passes some time.

    Purchase structure - £5 million
    Wages - £22.5k a week

if that was actually the case that's about 3 times the average wage in the championship,

so if that was the case not as tight as people actually think

No real idea but at a guess the structure refers to paying for anyone over 25 and I’m also guessing 15k is near the top we currently pay per week. People seem to think we won’t spend more than a million or so but all the evidence suggests otherwise. I reckon 5m would be top limit though.
    All complete guesswork.

Just a total off the top of my head guess, based on a bigger guess of what 65% of turnover looks like divided by a 26 man squad

    Just checking :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I don't think wages are the issue if I'm being honest, I believe we pay decent money.

I do worry that our valuations for players are a lot less than what people want to sell for and maybe a tad unrealistic.

I caveat that by I still believe of the right player that ticked all the right boxes came along the board would sanction it

Watching the wolves game just shows why goal scorers are so difficult to get hold of and worth a premium wolves were excellent apart from in front of goal

Our wage bill is within the 6-7 lowest in the league, we don’t have a single player on £22k+ a week.

according to some, and i kind of paraphrase...

"what is the point of having a billionaire owner if he cannot spend his money to get some 'big' signings?"

i always try to point them to the last billionaire that threw money around but the fact that he threw it in the wrong direction gives them a bit of a get out on that one...still, i am sure any billionaire would be willing to blow a few hundred million of his own cash.

Won’t be a billionaire for long if he aimlessly spunks millions up the wall
