Adama on form at the back end of last season was the best 10 in the division. If both are fit, it’s Ozan to go for me all day
Definitely up there. Statistically speaking 99th percentile for xA (expected assists), progressive passes. Also had 2nd most big chances created in our squad for the season over 13 games or however many it was.
He was very good, but it's a bit bizarre that he looks miles off it now and he had most of pre-season too. He's hopefully one of those players that takes a few games to get up to speed
It’s an odd one really though isn’t it? He was that good for us and is now being shoehorned into positions that neutralise him. Right off the midfield 4 against Norwich and then deep against Donny. I’d have him where Tufan played against Norwich today and Lokilo where he was
See, that wasn't so hard was it? So, given that it's binding once signed, that means it could be announced straight away. The registration stuff just means the player can't actually play until that's done (which is usually a matter of hours not a week). I get the media team bit, but again, a week seems excessive. Clubs have players who sign a contract on a Thursday night or Friday morning, are registered and announced then play on the Saturday. As said, it was a simple, genuine question. I don't think you actually know the reason (because what you say doesn't stack up), but just want to sound like you do.
We say this with every transfer but for whatever reason there's a lag between us having things confirmed in the media and the club announcing it. Has been that way for almost every Acun signing.
It's very odd and not one I really understand, he should be flying. I'd do that too but it depends on how Lokilo is fitness wise and after Tuesday. I don't think today is an easy team selection as most the wingers are out and I'd be surprised if he gave Longman a start
Yep, and that is why I was asking a simple question .... "Good. But why the wait of around a week to announce it? Simple, genuine question with nothing to be read into it.". Someone ITK was confirming with authority that in the Twine case it had "all been completed and signed" on Wednesday. I'm just curious to know / understand what then takes up a full week. Maybe it's a simple as Wednesday is normally the player's day off, so Rosenior & others are available for photo shoots then?
I've not seen any stats but that checks out. From his first few appearances I've always thought he's very good at finding forward passes through the lines, even under pressure. Such an important skill, and its rare too.
I’m wondering if this is all tied in with the change to more of a 4-4-2, away from the 4-2-3-1 we were playing at the back end of last season. I think that has had more of a detrimental effect on us than anyone realises and I suspect that LR may well revert today, assuming that he feels he has the right personnel available to do it. I’m hoping that the events of the last week will have made him realise that he can still play the style that he wants to but needs to be a little more flexible in his approach and give the players a bit more freedom to do the things they’re good at.
It's odd that Macca, Christie and Traore all seem so off their games considering how we know they can perform.
The 442 came in at the back end of the season but with the absence of a striker it worked in our favour as we had Traore and Tufan dropping deeper when defending so we weren’t as easy to play against. We also had Allahyar playing who makes up a lot of others short comings in off ball work
If he’s not playing today, which he clearly isn’t, it makes **** all difference if they announce it yesterday or next Wednesday.
I didn't say it did (or didn't). I'm just asking a bleedin simple question out of curiosity!!! Having said that, announcing it early (as in when it was all signed, or yesterday or today) might just have given everyone a bit of a lift?
