Could be a good option for us, think hes better as a rb according to united fans i know

I have a feeling they see alese as a cb, so he will likely be batths replacement if he goes

Gives us hume gooch huggins cirkin as fullbacks

Obviously not a priority position n as it says he could be there for a move to Ipswich but he is a good player

Was watching Hume closely yesterday. He is a hell of a good defender. Body position and shape spot on, aggresion, sense danger and reads a ball in the air well. To me he might well be a future centre half. Pace is his challenge and not many full backs these days are slow. I wonder if we give him more of an inside role, as part of a back 3 with wing backs. Just for flexibility. Personally I am not a back 3 fan, but if you have real pace and width from wing backs it can open spaces in the middle quickly.

OK, he got a daft red and he isn't a marauding full back but I think Hume is absolutely class. His use of ball is outstanding, he picks lovely passes all the time. His reading of game is also very, very good. An unbelievable signing really.

I think rcb of a back 3 is probably his best position. I know a few on here think he might become a cdm in the future n thats possible.

He is a solid defender n hes good at retaining possession. He needs to add more to his game going forward to take it to the nxt level. Want to see him get forward more n get crosses in as he has a good delivery. Lack of pace will hold him back if/when he plays in the PL but he will learn how to make up for lacking pace as he gets more experience

He didn't get forward enough to support Roberts yesterday. That wasn't an issue last season when Roberts had Amad to support him but without that Roberts looked isolated and needed an overlapping full back to take away one of defenders doubling (sometimes trebling) up on him. If he doesn't improve on this then I'd prefer him to move into CB or DCM.

Think he will get exposed there. What's his height. Looks to be slight and not tall, especially for centre back. Could be easy pickings for any decent forward who could just pull out wide and win anything high.

Hes really strong in the air, i get the concern but hes intelligent at stopping forwards backing into him which is key if you are a smaller CB. I dont think hes ready for cb in a back 4 as you def need more physicality in that role but rcb of a back 3 you dont.

I said to my dad at the start of summer that it wouldnt be a surprise if we brought in a rb to challenge him. Not saying we will but it wouldnt surprised if we do

Yeah. Back 3 as you say can get away with it being a ball player will help. I would still be very worried against physical teams like.

I thought the problem was the full backs as I don't think that they offered the overlap to give us width which meant the whole team was too narrow, hence less crosses into the box which nullified Hemir. We know our wide men like to cut in and last season we had no strikers so did not put many crosses into the box and found another way. now with a striker they need to adapt. when Ba, Pritchard and Gooch came on they were always looking at width and then suddenly Cirkin goes on outside cuts back and goal. Think TM got tactics wrong and realized late on that he needed to change it but by then we were up against it. Just my opinion but that's how I seen it. Think we will settle down and I do believe we have a very good competitive squad which will improve as the season moves forward and I dont think now is the time for the fan base to get edgy. If after 10 games we only have 4 or 5 points then I may get a bit more edgy but at the moment lets just settle in and see where we are in 6 or 7 weeks.

Crikin was over lapping in the first half and Clarke largely ignored him

I don't mind you saying at all, what the board is about. However. Doing it in training is one thing, matches another. Did you see how many dead balls we wasted Sunday? And who the ferk is Tri?

Ah, Trai, gotcha. Thought you'd came up with a weird bastardisation of 'Pritch'. Point stands though , our crossing and dead ball delivery is woeful.

He got the red for kicking the ball away so I am informed., not the tackle.

    Reference 'the Stewart situation'.

It's becoming annoying seeing criticism of the club from people who don't know what the player, agent and other clubs are doing. They don't have to issue statements or explain anything but Sunderland are expected to keep people informed/pay Stewart what he wants/get the contract signed.

This all smacks of the player and agent wanting the same, or better, contract for a player with a serious injury, that may never heal properly, as a totally fit inform player.

Giving a high salaried contract to him now would be a dereliction of duty imo.

I love Trai Hume but I'm not sure we can argue with the red card like. Whether it was soft or not he was silly for inviting it. He'll learn.
