He left Vinagre 2v1 every time because he was that far off the pace of the game. Offered nothing meaningful in possession aside from backwards passes. Want the kid to succeed but he’s been thrown in the deep end entirely by Rosenior when he’s not ready
In all fairness both of our full backs were being isolated all game, its no wonder they struggled, in short our midfield and so called wingers just weren't at the party. We can only hope this improves drastically over the next few weeks, but I have to say a few didn't look fit despite the so called 'hard' preseason fitness training.
Exactly surely having a not fully fit Lokilo in his position is better than having a not fully fit Adama out of position…
Seri, Traoré, Christie and Vinagre looked rusty as **** and like they were still in pre-season mode. Delap was the only outfield player barring the centre-halves who looked sharp and fit. Tufan and Vaughan looked busy enough but still sloppy on the ball.
Slater naturally gets much higher, and in a midfield 2 it really exposes Seri when he’s sat deeper. Tactical issues killing our most dangerous players. Thought Seri did ok, was the better of the midfield 2, if Rosenior is to play with this system though he has to either shoehorn Slater elsewhere or drop him because he can’t provide protection
Honestly with the emergence of Delap yesterday showing he's a really good hold up player. We need to switch to a 433 or a 451. Anything to bolster the midfield. Slater's strength is his late runs into the box and as you said when he does that currently its leaving Seri high and dry. I'd personally drop Seri but I dont think Rosenior will -------------- Ingram -------------- Coyle - Jones - Greaves - Vinagre ------------- Simons ----------------- Lokilo - Slater - Traore - Vaughan ------------- Delap ---------------------- This would probably yield better results
Not a bad shout, Simon's certainly looks as if he can fit into that defensive MF role, and Seri has looked out of sorts IMO. Slater needs to be further forward and doesn't suit the defensive MF role.
So apparently it is true that Kovar is the keeper we're trying to bring in. After watching a few videos on him I can see why Rosie wants him as he's certainly used to playing out from the back.
Coyle was 'poor in possession' because no ****er gave him an option to pass. He was left isolated every bloody time. Someone on the pitch needs to start bollocking teammates for not putting a shift in.
Agreed, but I'd blame inexperience rather than being off the pace. Garbage. There were plenty of times he cut inside and found a player going forward. This is a good demonstration of the rampant idiocy on here. I think that Vaughan struggled yesterday against good players, and that as soon as we get another wide player Vaughan won't be starting matches any more and may well go out on loan. But I don't see the need to back up my opinion by just making **** up. Ditto for people saying Coyle did nothing but give the ball away.
Rosies red card meant we didn't get to hear the usual "im really happy with the squad" and "these transfers take time" bollocks.
I dunno, he might well have told the press hounds to **** off just like he screamed at the referee. Probably for the best!
I disagree. Premier League teams don’t start fielding their strongest teams until they get to the semi finals so why should anyone else bother
Just watching Leciester v Coventry. I see Leicester bought a new keeper. Im sure they wouldn't want Iversen to go to a rival as such but id definitely be interested in seeking a loan. He was the lad who played for Preston on loan season before last and had a worldie here. EDIT .. didnt know about this Komar
It’s alright having a keeper who can pass out like that, but if the players in front of him aren’t capable of doing anything with the ball other than lose it or pass it back to the keeper, putting him under pressure, then it’s pointless getting a new keeper, as they already do that with Ingram, who then ends up having to make a great save, or he concedes & get’s criticism.
