Yeah. Think I was called out for suggesting in preseason he may go out on loan. Think he probably won't now, but he won't be an automatic starter by 1st sept unless he turns out to be the new Messi overnight.
I imagine it's a fair amount up front in order to win the race to sign him, the rest in instalments most likely. The defender they got from Heerenveen wasn't cheap either.
I don't know why people focus on this so much anyway. Just because a fee isn't all paid up front doesn't mean it's not still paid in full.
The focus is because their outlay on Simms is only 3.5m even though it's reported so much higher. On top of that it will be instalments most likely so they aren't actually spending all the cash this window nor is it counting in this year for FFP. If the add ons are met the player will have done well for them.
I think a lot of the Vaughan hype at the minute comes from the fact he gets the ball and goes at teams for the most part generally. He didn’t seem as inclined as others to simply go back and keep the ball and wanted to take a man on. I think today showed he’s not quite there yet but he’ll be a good player for years to come.
Today showed he’s miles away. He looked okay/comfortable in a period of the season where most teams were set where they were. Today he was out of his depth on and off the ball.
Yeah. But the kid thrived off the confidence of a bit of hype and hasn't really let himself down that much. He's far from the finished article but I very much doubt he will be a first option for LW, False 9 or traditional 10 by Sept 1st anyway. He's a prospect. A good one. But that's all at the moment. If we have the ideal of 2 x 11's competing in a squad of 25 with a couple of additional young ' uns then Vaughan should be with the squad on that basis. . But we need the solid 2x11s in a settled first team squad extraneous to him.
Even then, he looked lost in some away games. For me, he should be sat on the bench, getting regular cameos when we need someone to run at them last 15 minutes or just for experience
Looking at the Tetteh sale, the fee will probaby by made up of an initial fee followed by additional add-ons for goals scored, appearances made, and trips to the physio room...

No he wasn’t. He was comfortably our worst player. Suppose you’ll defend him after your comments on his frightening progress
And you're completely biased because you think Jarvis should be ahead of him. Tufan, Seri, Adama were all garbage too
