Honestly, I don't think Lavia is the right player anyway... At least not at that price. I'm not sure who is, but £40mill is too much for a 19 year old will need to step up as regular first team player without us crippling him from overplaying. (Especially since he's already had a few injuries at his tender young age).

We should be looking for an adult, someone we can throw out there every week.

someone bought those players but bo ****ing way did klopp want them for the first team. he might have agreed on some level with a view to shirting them on again but he put zero into either player.

I haven't watched him with any sort of a critical eye so I don't have much of an opinion on him. The money is ridiculous of course, but that's the way it is at the moment.
I'd be happy if we identified someone who isn't flavour of the month that we can bring in for a relative pittance, but we know some fans only want a marquee signing.

2. when you are at the upper end of the good chain you can forget 100mil fees the lesser clubs demand of certain idiot clubs. we don't get to sell on for that much

3. you cannot ignore the going rates even if they are scandalous. you can only call them what they are.

We went into this window having £400m of wiggle room for FFP - larger than anyone else in the Prem (it was Spurs, but they splurged last summer). £5m is not an issue. At least it shouldn't be.

FFP isn't the issue and hasn't been for years just actually having the dosh appears to be the issue .
The £400m ffp wriggle room is a bit of a red herring though as if you actually splurged £400m in one window you would have a scary big loss in your annual accounts

he's just replaced ake. I don't think he ever really liked him.

even then guardiola is absolutely obsessed with minutes and people who call this a small squad will see them have about 60mins on average in that front 5 and not have any issue.

compare.and contrast to the madness at Chelsea where there's 35.man squad far far too many average wingers not striker and no cm and no keeper really.
