might also be the same £5m that stops us buying the right CB. We simply don’t know.

It's all just talk by people with over-inflated egos - I don't know why anyone pays them any attention tbh.

So, it sounds like we're now trying to buy a wedding venue.

he played small parts. let's be clear. 12mins In the last game and according to reports in the prior game he stunk the place out.

one huge reason not to play the guy is you.cant trust him.
I'd rather see him.play and play well for Southampton

I see him pop up on TicToc all the time; always moaning and complaining about something. He's not shut up all summer about transfers.

Im all for driving a hard bargain and saving money, but if £5m stops us from buying the right CB, then we’re in deep sh*t.

It’s hard to think of another big club like ourselves that act with little to no ambition and without a pot to p*ss in

FSG are always slow and don't make noise about their dealings When we got VVD it was a surprise to everyone.

You really think that's the case because some rentagob on social media says it is?

I mean, sounds like maybe we started at £30mill, so it's not just £5mill more... We've already gone £15mill more than we originally saw fit... And they still want more.

Overpriced is overpriced and you have to draw a line somewhere and say "I'm already above my valuation, I'm not going any higher".

Erm - it could be the £5m that makes the difference to FFP or even an £80m deal for a CB, or both…..budgets are budgets in every walk of life, we’re no different

We went into this window having £400m of wiggle room for FFP - larger than anyone else in the Prem (it was Spurs, but they splurged last summer). £5m is not an issue. At least it shouldn't be.

Honestly, I don't think Lavia is the right player anyway... At least not at that price. I'm not sure who is, but £40mill is too much for a 19 year old will need to step up as regular first team player without us crippling him from overplaying. (Especially since he's already had a few injuries at his tender young age).

We should be looking for an adult, someone we can throw out there every week.

Doesn't change the fact we have to sign someone.

Midfield market is massively over inflated atm though so hard to judge properly.

    100m for rice?
100m for caicedo who has had 1 season
