It beggars belief that after all that fallout with Blatter and his cronies finally getting their comeuppance we just ended up with FIFA still as corrupt as ever and led by the ridiculous Infantino.

Its between a rock and a hard place, but at least with Blatter it felt more transparent. Infantino tries to play all sides and I find that possibly more loathsome.

Columbia vs Germany best game I've seen and result, referee allowed a bit of physicality which does tend to make spoil many of the games when the no contact ethos is applied

unlike the New Zealand game... boring tepid and tame

Just watched the highlights, that first Colombia goal was a bit special, would have graced any game, men or women.

Come on England, looking dangerous, 2 nil up, & just hit the post. Fantastic play by Millie Bright, nicking the ball back and great pass through the 2nd goal by Lauren Hemp.

The VAR panel really had to look hard to disallow Englands fourth goal. None of the linesman, the ref or any of the players on both sides thought it was offisde. But some officlal sat in front of a telly screen, watching in slow motion, did. The games going to the dogs in a handcart.

It was interesting to see how awkward, sheepish even, the ref looked in explaining that decision. I think VAR puts them in a crap position sometimes. Really think it's hard to argue that VAR has been anything less than a failure, but it seems like no one in the game can acknowledge it.

England are looking stronger than I’d hoped and USA, not as strong as I feared…

And robbed of a hat trick by VAR/someone sat in a darkened room in front of a dozen screens, with the benefit of slow motion, stills and play back. Unbelieveable. Might as well do away with the ref altogether and 'referee' the game from under the stands with these screens and just announce the decisions over the loud speaker. I don't like VAR, me.

It was a strange situation that highlighted a flaw in the law. Originally she was obviously a mile offside, but by the time of the second phase she was a mile onside. Now I know the defender has to ‘deliberately’ play the ball for it to count, but she literally jumped up and challenged for it. Just because it hit a part of her she didn’t intend and the ball went somewhere she didn’t doesn’t mean she didn’t try to play to the ball in my eyes. But, letter of the law and all that.

    I dont understand this rule
They have taken "deliberately" out of fouls and hand balls yet bring it in for certain offside situations

When was the last time a Brazil team, men or women, failed to make the knock out stages of a world cup?
If it was 1966. Omen....Could football be coming home?

I'm only watching the England matches
When it's the men's World Cup I try to watch all the matches unless there's two matches on at once
