I'm not sure a manager sits looking at twitter and suddenly tells his chairman to bang an offer in because Hull City are linked with players. Decent managers have their list in with the CEO before the seasons ended and decent agents let every CEO in the world know that someone is in for their player in case someone wants to offer him more money. The agent will do that with or without public knowledge
You've misinterpreted my point. Say Hull City and Team B are both interested in a player. Hull City's interest gets leaked by whoever and Team B was previously working on other deals suddenly turns their attention to the same target.
That and the fact that most clubs do the same and they wouldn't for just ****s and giggles and to be ****s as seems to be getting suggested.
West Brom have sorted a loan deal for Brighton's Sarmiento, they have done well there. I think Rosenior was interested in getting him here.
We’re getting left behind in this transfer window. Say I’m overreacting or whatever but players are preferring mid-table fodder like Stoke and West Brom who are in the **** financially with an unlikeable owner to us. I just don’t think potential targets are buying into Acun and Rosenior’s spiel as much as the fans are.
As much as LR likes to think he's a real pull and has a style that players will fall over themselfs to play....the cold hard fact is he's still a rookie manager with no real pull for top quality players. He and the club can dress it up however they want but the cold facts are that a fair number of players just haven't wanted to come paly for him and his style
Fair point but any agent worth his salt would already be letting every manager, CEO or club contact he has in the right division that his player is in talks with Hull City and if they want him they need to move now. His job is to create a bidding war and that is exactly what they do.
Can’t say that, mate. Too negative. Must have 100% blind faith in Rosenior. On a serious note, I am not at all surprised by what you just said. If I think he’s an inexperienced and naive manager with a tendency to waffle on like he’s doing a Ted Talk then experienced pros will think the same. I wouldn’t blame them if they preferred to play under the likes of Corberán, Alex Neil or even Mowbray.
As much as I agree on LR we also have to accept that Hull City and Hull in general is not attractive at all to many players. Who on earth would want to move to this City if you have offers in the North West and can live in Manchester or in the North East and you can live in Newcastle? At risk of going off on a tangent Hull has been ruined over a period of time by greedy councillors and the City Centre is an embarrassment. As locals we make do and make the best of it. I still drink in one or two bars to see my mates. The wife and I will eat on Humber street now and again. I take the kids in town for clothes and bits they need. Would I move here if I wasnt deep rooted? Would I f***. And this is said with a heavy heart because I love my City and its history but I cannot imagine many players looking at Hull and thinking 'Cant wait for a night in Propoganda'.
Let’s face it, clubs like Bristol City, Stoke, Sunderland etc. are making solid signings and we’re still waiting around to sign a kid who was out injured for months because he stubbed his toe on a football and then had a bad tummy ache. Same kid has also been an unprofessional nuisance everywhere he went.
To be fair it has a bit more impact coming from someone generally balanced and credible as opposed to the constant bed wetters taking a negative spin on everything.
So you need someone ITK to tell you that transfer targets don’t think Rosenior’s all that before you can form your own opinion?
But Acun said it was like Istanbul...you mean he was not being serious? Get me the smelling salts, I am feeling weak
Read it somewhere why not have a go for the Roma back up keeper Svilar from Roma, very highly rated and needs game time.
Well with this unbridled positivity we are f****d . If you talk something down it eventually becomes self fulfilling or in modern times ‘fact’ as so often quoted here . Equally if you talk it up it will lift the profile , Based on this forum Acun has made a massive mistake wasted his money on a hopeless case , am I glad I was born here How do any of you know we were after any of these players who have chosen another club over us , do you have evidence ? We are still probably going to get players at mid table level for many reasons , other players are going to recently more sucessful clubs and clubs with a higher profile we can’t help that if that’s their thoughts , only big wages might change that opinion
Nope. It's petty obvious to most where he is in a nascent career and he's only shown promise so far. But it's also petty obvious that a club which needs half price passes to get a decent gate and half the turnover of many others isn't going to be top of the players pecking order either. For obvious reasons. We're competing for players with options. Just see where we are once the widow has played out
We've attracted the likes of Seri, Tufan, Christie, Darlow and Vinagre has pedigree. I very much doubt there's been an increase of decrease in managerial pull whether it was Shota or Rosenior tbh.
