No idea, I have just been told we definitely have irons in the fire and we have solid targets (a couple are close) but wasn't given any names or any hints I'm afraid, sorry.
Socks sliding stuff???!!! Saturday vs Nantes should be interesting to see who is sitting in the west stand.

Leaks to the press. team B who were competing against us ramp up their interest and we lose out. Can imagine it happens a lot. Must have happened a bit last year because every Turkish journalist linked us to someone last year but its radio silence largely this
More like agents touting clients around clubs for the highest bidder.

Players availability will be getting circulated but most clubs will will want anything surrounding negotiations kept confidential as it might alert other clubs to a gazumping opportunity.

You mean negotiations with the self same agents touting their clients round, let's be fair here, very few if any players get involved in any such negotiation these days, and an agent will always get the best deal they can for their player, but more importantly for themselves.

So why do most clubs keep recruitment under wraps then, if not to prevent alerting others to a players availability?

I agree that agents direct players to generally go where the money is. I guess in real world situations though there are situations where 2 or more clubs are offering near as damn it the same and the player has to chose based on location, club philosophy, support base and likely first team opportunities though.

Just like in the real world a club can have something all but agreed with a player then another club comes in last minute having lost out on someone else last minute and I guess thats what the radio silence will be trying to minimise the risk of.

It's never gonna stop it completely, but having your targets names and negotiations all over the press probably heightens the risk of your player popping up on a rivals radar, as has effectively happened with Darlow.

Where’s this been said? This the reason for the delay?

"What is holding the deal up?"
"Aaron wasn't fit at the end of the end of last season... it's a complex situation... i can't really go into too much detail... if Aaron Connolly is in the right frame of mind and is fit, he's a threat... but City are looking at other players and have a lot of other options"

Good. Do think in this 2 striker set up he’d flourish though, but im not convinced by it.
