The Cricket Thread

Just got back from Manchester having spent yesterday at Old Trafford as per of the present I bought my nephew for Christmas. This was the first time I had visited this ground and my opinion was pretty favourable. It was quite interesting listening to some of the comments coming back on the tram as there was a lot of dissatisfaction about the Agea being awarded an Ashes test at the expense of Old trafford with it being felt that the southern stadia were being favoured at the expense of the ones in the north. I can apprecite the injustice whilst recognising the efforts gone to get Test cricket played in Spouthampton.. Driving back this afternoon and noticing how the weather had cleared up as soon as I had reached Warwick, it did strike me that the climate in Manchester seemed to preclude Test matches being played there -even though the group has undergone a substantial refubishment.

I'm sorry you didn't get to see any cricket, Ian!
