Interesting article on the role Barnes might play in Thorup's new direction: https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwic...es-norwich-city-progress-report-card-2023-24/
The club has been awarded a prize for it's mental health week video: "Taking home one of our Grand Prix this year, as well as winning Gold in the Sports category, was Norwich City Football Club for its World Mental Health Day campaign that showed how the power of sport can save lives. With the realization that the average age of a Norwich City season ticket holder correlates to the age bracket most likely to take their own life (45-49), it came up with an idea for a short film designed to show two supporters who fall into the high-risk age bracket and dispel the myth that even though someone appears OK on the surface, they may not be. The ‘You Are Not Alone’ video went truly viral – it has been viewed over 146m times across more than 150 countries. More importantly, it was responsible for over 7,500 inbound messages to Samaritans, which accounted for 63% of all messages around World Mental Health Day." https://www.thedrum.com/news/2024/06/13/the-drum-awards-marketing-emea-2024-winners-revealed
Presume we'll start with the usual run-outs against local sides, do we know when pre-season training is scheduled to start?
Think there may be games against local outfits that involve young/fringe players, but the first friendly on that list is only a few days after the players normally report back. We don't want to play Cambridge again either.
Looks as though we will be set for a new front of shirt sponsor this season as the club have announced that the deal with Lotus has come to an end
Seems a bit late to be announcing this. Hope they have a new sponsor lined up ready for the new shirt launch.
If I remember aright, Lotus stepped in to fill the shirt front void when the BK8 deal was hastily terminated. It was a bit of mutual back-scratching, which suited both parties at the time, but probably didn't represent best value to either. Since then, of course, there has been the much publicised, middle-of-the-night shift change antics of grown-up "boy racers", alienating the Canary-supporting locals around Hethel. I doubt if the noise would carry as far as Stowmarket though
A clothing brand I've never heard of (but that's not saying a lot...). Norfolk based apparently. Curious how big they are, 5000 twitter followers and next to no posts, but maybe they're more present on other social media. Their website has a section for "influencers", so they must have a fair bit of social media presence somewhere. At least it's not a dubious betting website!
Their accounts for the year ended 31st March 2023 report turnover of £14m and net profits of £1.3m. They are a small but growing, family owned and run business, headquartered in Melton Constable.
Here’s their website, I like their clothing. I would expect a pretty simple sponsor on the shirt similar to the Lotus one and at the top of their web page. https://blakelyclothing.com/
Yeah it looks like a logo that isn't going to clash with any kit designs at least. Nothing like the big box Aviva insisted on. You'd hope as a clothing company they'd be keen for the shirt to be attractive.
Stevenage at home in the first round of the league cup. Not a bad fixture although not terribly exciting.
