I'm one of the most anti-Bednarek supporters going on here. But it's nothing to do with him not playing in the QF, or his comments after joining Villa - I don't care about that. It's because he's not good enough (at least for for PL level football).

Fair enough. But since buying Bednarek for 5m, we've bought;

Hoedt - 15m
Vestergaard - 16m
Salisu - 12m
Lyanco - 8m
Caleta-Car - 10m
Bella-Kotchap - 10m

Might be wrong slightly on some of those prices, but let's face it, Bednarek has given us far better service than the others on that list (too early for ABK).

It must be so difficult to squad plan and map things out with all the players we have and the uncertainty of who is moving on and when

We have six central defenders and probably need four but I expect for four of them we either want to get rid of or actively want to go - ABK, Salisu, DCC and Lyanco. If all four leave we will need at least one incoming if not two

We have three right backs. One is being actively pursued and the other seems like one where there will eventually be interest. If both go we will need one at the last minute

If both Lavia and JWP go (which you have to assume is likely) then I’d assume we will need one more because I’d consider us light there. Alcaraz would need replacing if he goes

I already mentioned above that in Adams, Mara and Onuachu we have up to three strikers who might go and will once again be light in a position

It seems like there were comments from Martin that there are players we have spoken to who will wait for the necessary outgoings

And this is also the case in other positions as well. Do we expect McCarthy to stay as a championship backup? But no links have come out

Never speak of Alcaraz going. Never.

Can someone for the love of god set up a love/hate Bednarek thread!

So funny reading all the social media posts from the deluded geordies crying because little old Southampton aren’t playing fair with selling Tino to them for what they want.
Really not going to miss the premier league this season.

It's rhe same with Burnley (Tella) and Liverpool (Lavia) as well. The sheer arrogance of all of them, thinking we should roll over for a pittance.

Hopefully Newcastle will find out what it’s like when they fail to qualify next year champions league and all there foreign players especially will want to leave.
Need to give their head a wobble. Comments like Tino wants to leave and keeping him against his will etc etc. And don’t get me started on the likes of Burnley

Personally, I'd be gutted to lose Che.

Me too. Think he will be a class above in the Championship. He's had four seasons of getting used to Premier League defenders, and his all round play has improved a lot. Everyone's biggest complaint is his composure in front of goal, but in the Champ he'll get more opportunities and more time on the ball. Think his best years are still ahead of him.

Still holding on to his words at the end of the season and his bromance with Adam Armstrong as indicators that he will stay.

Doesn’t help that out teenage “ITKs” are telling the Newcastle fans that he wants out

I think he’ll go. Only 1 year left on contract, no sign of signing a new deal so club will cash in. Wolves have big interest in him as well.

Absolutely. He'll be a real asset this season.

And you'd have to change your username <laugh>

If we could get something like £15m for Che, I think that would be acceptable for someone with less than a year left on his contract (and who I wouldn't be particularly keen to give a new contract to even if he did want to stay).

But if it was more like, say, £6m or £7m, I think I'd rather hold onto him and hope that we could use his final season to help get us promoted.

If moving Ché gave us the salary and brought the majority of the fee in to enable us to purchase Piroe, then I would immediately do it.
I was going to say that if it didn’t the I wouldn’t bother. But if it does it begs the question about why wolves would not just sign Piroe. I guess down to what we have experienced - one has played against PL defences and one hasn’t
