Fair enough. But since buying Bednarek for 5m, we've bought; Hoedt - 15m Vestergaard - 16m Salisu - 12m Lyanco - 8m Caleta-Car - 10m Bella-Kotchap - 10m Might be wrong slightly on some of those prices, but let's face it, Bednarek has given us far better service than the others on that list (too early for ABK).
If Lavia was already a Liverpool player and wanted to leave with his age and potential would Liverpool be asking for less than £50m? Probably not.
Hmmm…. Liverpool/Premier League so called top table club refusing to play what a players worth and seemingly leaking the story to unsettle him and his club…. What a shock…!! Public tapping up….
So funny reading all the social media posts from the deluded geordies crying because little old Southampton aren’t playing fair with selling Tino to them for what they want. Really not going to miss the premier league this season.
It's rhe same with Burnley (Tella) and Liverpool (Lavia) as well. The sheer arrogance of all of them, thinking we should roll over for a pittance.
Hopefully Newcastle will find out what it’s like when they fail to qualify next year champions league and all there foreign players especially will want to leave. Need to give their head a wobble. Comments like Tino wants to leave and keeping him against his will etc etc. And don’t get me started on the likes of Burnley
Me too. Think he will be a class above in the Championship. He's had four seasons of getting used to Premier League defenders, and his all round play has improved a lot. Everyone's biggest complaint is his composure in front of goal, but in the Champ he'll get more opportunities and more time on the ball. Think his best years are still ahead of him. Still holding on to his words at the end of the season and his bromance with Adam Armstrong as indicators that he will stay.
I think he’ll go. Only 1 year left on contract, no sign of signing a new deal so club will cash in. Wolves have big interest in him as well.
If we could get something like £15m for Che, I think that would be acceptable for someone with less than a year left on his contract (and who I wouldn't be particularly keen to give a new contract to even if he did want to stay). But if it was more like, say, £6m or £7m, I think I'd rather hold onto him and hope that we could use his final season to help get us promoted.
If moving Ché gave us the salary and brought the majority of the fee in to enable us to purchase Piroe, then I would immediately do it.
I was going to say that if it didn’t the I wouldn’t bother. But if it does it begs the question about why wolves would not just sign Piroe. I guess down to what we have experienced - one has played against PL defences and one hasn’t
