That's certainly been the thinking at PSG for the last 4 or so years
Klopp on the LFC podcast - paraphrasing - "we nearly did the quadruple .. nearly .. but then we didn't and having the season we had created doubt. Was really looking forward to this season when we bagged AMC and Szobo, then this mess has unfolded. Make no mistake this was not in Klopps plans and it’s ****ing put us back imo. Even if we got a stunning signing in, it’s far too much change for me to challenge.

100%, but I felt getting them 2 gave us the depth and increased the competition, and we’d have proper, solid options when the inevitable injuries crop up
I guess Saudi take note of this and use it to target players too, don’t bother fighting for your position son, come here for more money than God
