It is definitely a no win situation and shows that all the players have the power The simple solution for me is buy the Hendo/Thiago replacement then refuse to sell either - unless they buy themselves out of their contracts and the the other club ponies up an agreed fee But then who would come to us Infuriating
it's this simple. you see out this glut of greed and stupidity and laugh at the miserable players who hated every minute or didn't get paid. the China story is a very telling one for these players. 20 clubs , 25 players. basically don't let the door hit your greedy arse on the way out. we will kick off just fine in August with our 11 and that will be that. the only thing is newcastle getting sly benefits left and right out of this. all their rivals weakened and only off casts they want gone being taken same for chelsea. Real investisgtions needed there.
Klopp's always said he won't stand in the way of a player that wants to leave. He only wants players that want to be at the club. He has my 100% backing on that
Nope. Couldn't disagree more. Don't "just go do", we still need to be calculated and do our research. We don't need to find a fill, we still need to find the right player!
We don't want players who don't want to be here, Klopp certainly doesn't. He said in one of his last interviews that if a player is unhappy, he will drive them to their next club himself. There was a rumour circulating that with all the uncertainty surrounding Henderson, Klopp actually asked him to leave which is why he wasn't involved in the first preseason game and before a medical had been booked etc. It's a shame that the captain of your club leaves quietly by the back door. On a more positive note - Looking at the training photos and videos, the players look fit and happy and raring to go. Klopp has spoken about having an unofficial (verbal) contract between all the players in which they come up with a plan that they all agree and sign up to. It's the start of a new era.
I’m with you on this one. It wouldn’t be wise to sign an average player on a 5 year contract. Might as well spend a bit more or wait for the right one. i appreciate there are no guarantees, but you do reduce the risks.
we should really already know who we want that's the point they clearly feel the need to play to the fans, and that's the point. you know you've not got the job done last year and now you are out trying to react to Saudi slime and placate fans words won't do it. only action will. we all know the anger there will be if they don't "take action" and words now but excuses later are even worse.
see I said this only recently about trent but nobody thought it was a positive message at all. it's not about smiley photos, it's about looking at the shape the players turned up in
Do not get me wrong Z totally agree on that but for all of the morality stance chat that has taken place there is a simpler footballers have too much power contracts mean diddly squat and clubs are virtually (not totally) powerless would be nice to make examples out of some of these things getting perilously close to getting involved here lol
You never cease to surprise me with your comments. (That's a good thing btw). Someone once said (Think it was Eleanor Roosevelt) - just when people think they know who you are, surprise them. That's definitely you.
I’m not in touch with lots of other teams players these days but what are Colwil and Lavia like? Lavia will be a starter if he comes. Will colwil be a starter? Is Tiago leaving?
I think it's both. And yes you were right, Trent cut his hair and turned up looking fit, in shape and like a man ready to do business.
they are young players. this is really about figuring out what we think is best value. I don't think either would start myself. if we spend the fabinho money on lavia then I know ind of expect trent to be no 6 much hinges on what we see from klopp on the likes of Bradley and Jones.
we've seen plenty of smiley training pics over the years and form doesn't follow the public face taken by photographers. I think we can see a general approach by players who've come back in (btw Henderson included) who all put a lot of summer work in and we can see the likes of Jones join back in ASAP rather than rest on their laurels. we can only judge this by the physical shape they look in and the intensity they bring to games. before our "quad" attempt the players were absolutely sharp and intense in preseason. last season they were shambolic in comparison
I also never took any notice of Lavia so can only go from what others say but he is just a kid so whether one for now or the future? I don’t know. I only ever saw Colwill play for England U21’s after we were linked - seemed classy but again, very young so one for the future again; we are clearly trying to identify the next big names border they go to Germany and come back for £100m I don’t mind this approach but blended with a little more experience would be nice
Well come on now, nobody thinks a smiley face is indicative of form. I raised it because, in the midst of the mass exodus, those who remain appear to be in good spirits ie hopefully it isn't affecting their efforts or general mood in the camp. Alisson spoke out on being prepared and fully committed to the team and the season ahead and he is arguably the one player most affected by the departures.
