Not a political post! Picked this up from a Guardian article about Starmer’s approach to the next General election. I think this describes RMs tactical approach rather well (n.b. Fabius was a Roman General and the Fabian Society was named after him) “For the right moment you must wait, as Fabius did most patiently, when warring against Hannibal, though many censured his delays; but when the time comes you must strike hard, as Fabius did, or your waiting will be in vain, and fruitless.”
Hmmm ... great its sold out Not so great that its subsidised by a betting co which is getting great promotion for this 'selfless' act
I thought I would put the name Matthew Le Tissier as an anagram on google. Out of it you can make I am the lesser twit. It must be about comparing himself and Rickie on twitter.
There’s a modern trend of not liking one area of someone’s life and extending it to discount the good bits. Like judging a 19th century person by 21st century mores and discounting their contribution to medicine, education etc and concentrating on opinions commonly held in their lifetime. Not quite the same thing, but I prefer to remember Matty and Rickie for their contribution to our club and all the happy memories. No one said footballers had to be brain boxes.
