If we cast our minds back, just a little, many were forcasting that Players would boycott N/C once Saudi ownership was confirmed.

Can't remember if I posted it or not but I sat writing a post about this. A lot of us hoped (don't think many believed it deep down) that players would choose to go elsewhere than play for a Saudi owned club with their human rights abuses etc...

Here we are now watching players flock to the country cause the moneys better! They aren't even going to play at the same level but they don't care because its x amount a week tax free.

People have jumped the gun as you say it’s not done until it’s all signed. I’ve done the same, mainly shocked that it’s even possible.

Considering the reaction so far, the silence is deafening from both the player and Liverpool.

Aye, all but announced imo!

I guess the thing for me is that he now comes across as hypocritical. Says the right thing bit then goes against it for the coin.

Whilst i would have loved to have him back here, now i couldn't give a **** and would prefer that he didn't return.

As to the thread title...

If you're happy and you know it stone a gay
If you're happy and you kn ow it stone a gay
If you're happy and you know it and you really want to show it
If you're happy and you know it take the cash anyway

I’ve been a long time fan of Henderson, and have a lot of respect for him. The choice of many, including a cousin of mine to go to the Middle East for the earnings is quite simple and obvious.
The difference if Jordan goes is that he has built his reputation outside of football on his charity work and support for minorities.
So for me, IF he goes, all respect is lost, I will be very disappointed, he may as well come out and say that what he has said before was simply a script provided by agents, and it’s all been bullshit. Money is king!

I read, on The Net, so caution is required, that the wages offered are £700k a week.
£36 mill a year if you prefer.

The Saudi tax situation is not clear, but he would be free of UK tax PROVIDING he stays out of The UK for two tax years, ie till after 6th April, 2026.
He can though return on 'holidays' for up to 90 days in any one tax year.
Exceed that though, for any reason, and HM Revenue and Customs, will be very happy bunnies.

Aye I was reading about the tax laws. Takes a big shot on the idea of buying and loaning back possibly so that’s a positive.

We also have to remember that if this is an investment fund, surely it needs to make money at some point?

Henderson can go and get his millions. Come back and live in his castle. He'll then no doubt indulge himself in some highly publicised "charity" schemes to try and salve his reputation.

But it's in the bin. His speechifying and virtue signalling have been exposed as just that: the crafted for him, put together statements from a shallow man.

Enjoy the money Jordan. If you get the time, ask your new master how many children have been executed there in the time since he grasped powere .

In Saudi, unless you're a pampered puppet like Henderson and the others, don't be black. Don't be a woman. Don't be gay. Don't be Christian. Don't be Jewish. Don't be anything other than a Saudi born, male, Wahabi Sunni Muslim. You could one of those if you're black mind, but that doesn't count there.

I'm not just talking about Henderson here but these 'hard working celebrities' and their charities makes me laugh. I once had to go to a Pitt-Jolie charity ball, on a massive yacht in Antibes, with the Russian I worked for. It was basically a massive piss up, in summer on the French Riviera, for stars and super wealthy who paid a fortune to attend.

At the time the couple were lauded like they were on a round the world walk carrying orphans on their backs <doh>

Have you missed out on the fact that top Players, from all over the World seem to be heading for Saudi Arabia.
And by no means all of them are at the end of their careers.

We MAY be seeing a new pattern emerging, where moving there is a normal step up.
If you can go back to the Ddays when Italy was THE pace for footballers, the likes of Jimmy Greaves and Dennis Law were similarly pilloried for deserting their Homelands, but in time, it all washed away.
The move to italy just became a normal part of the transer business.

It will be interesting to see if a move to The Middle East works our in a similar way.

Somehow I don’t think so, but we will have to wait and see.

Which ‘top player’ has gone to Saudi like?

Benzema you could say but he’s 35.

A lot of ‘very good’ players have gone Saudi. No ‘top’ players have gone.

Top players have been linked, and declined. Nobody has yet turned down City, United, Real or Barca to go.

Nobody has even turned down Villa, West Ham or Valencia to go.

So, about 30 decent players have gone and it’s the new PL? Naaa.

Let’s bring one of the 8 or 9 other players from Saudi and see if they get a game at Barnsley.

They wouldn’t.

They are all swilling from the same trough.
There is no history of playing football in that God forsaken place and you cant buy one with a load of players turning up to play exhibition games in front of small crowds, in burning heat at a slow pace.

They are all just facilitating the evil of the Sauds. As are that lot up there.

I don't remember the Italians being known for being murderers or notoriously human rights abusers . . . . I must have missed that bit :emoticon-0112-wonde

I wasn't going on about their Politics, or their Religion.
But since YOU mention the subject, the Italians that took over Britain were very heavy on the slavery front, and their religon that they spread around the World had, at one time, a unit specialising in torture. Then of course there was the burnings at The Stake.

Of couse that was a long time ago, but does that mean that it was OK.?
The History that I've read, tends to emphasise that mans inhumanity to man has been a feature of the Human Race foe ever.

Saint Maximan is on his way there, and he is hardly at the end of his career.

I mearly ask the question, is this just a short term wonder, or is it PERHAPS, the trickle that becomes a flood?
