disagree and 2 of them thought the same as you until they recognised the work he does that goes unnoticed by so many and made him a mainstay of their team.

This is what i meant by losing both the captain and the vice captain in the same window, both arguably our most disciplined players, what does that do to the standards in the dressing room and on the training ground, that could be a problem if hendo does go this window imo

Where were those supposed standards set last season when whole team was poor and Hendo was one of poorer members.

well considering how poor all the senior players were its difficult to pick the poorer members and i'm still struggling to work out why he spent so much of the season playing almost as a RW when the weakest part of his game is being right up top .

Saints sign another city youngster. £15m with sell on clause, buy back clause & bud match clause.

Think that’s the 4th one they’ve signed from city in last year. Lavia obviously done well. Not sure the others have been very good.

Their positive attitudes would definitely be felt as a loss.

Both of them would be welcome back as coaches one day if it were up to me and they were amenable.

Ro be fair he wasn’t really a mainstay last year. He was poor. I’m one of his biggest fans and think he’s improved massively and really lead this team through its most successful period in 30 years. But time catches up with everyone.

Maybe last year was a blip? The fatigue of the previous year. Should he be a first name on the team sheet? Maybe not. A squad player? Absolutely. I’d hope that with reinforcements this year and potentially resting players in early stages of Europa we can keep those older players like Hendo fab thiago even Robbo TAA and Salah fresher for the key games by reducing their minutes and giving them
more rest time

And that’s fair enough
I personally don’t understand it at all

I understand his respect for Thiago that makes sense the guy is mustard
However it’s not fantasy football or even a debate on who the better player is (100% it’s Thiago) it’s about or it was earlier - who adds more value to the squad if we were to keep them
Thiago is like a top trumps card with one/two high scoring categories
Hendo is just more rounded and less specialised to me
So I think he can still do a job albeit a reduced one
 
Has to be said tho hendo looks a lot more trim this pre season than last.

He looked like he was carrying a few pounds last year imo
