Half way through a 10 day stay in Alykes in Zante. Really chilled out, and much cheaper than Lindos where we usually go in the summer. Just took redundancy before we came out - 12 weeks garden leave, so looking for all of august on another Greek island. Any suggestions?
Yeah I’ve been to Alykes just next to the dry lake had a good time nice beach We are going to argassi in September been two times already you may like it ther check it out on google earth we stay in zakantha beach hotel is nice
There is a few nice places in the Greek islands however not much choice from ponteland airport Try stalis in Crete it’s next to malia not rowdy but still busy nice beaches Try kefalos in Kos quiet and cheap beach a bit stoney Try roda and akaravi in Corfu both nice Try pefKos in Rhodes Do a little research Try skala in kefalonia There is many nice Greek places Potty about our airport not going to many Greek islands You have more choice from Manchester
Went to Skiathos beginning of May, bloody cold and pissed down 7/9 days. In the two days where the sun was out, it was fantastic. So good in fact, we’re going again on Saturday. I’ve been to the Greek islands around 20 times, this is one of the best.
I've just booked there for 2 weeks in December. I've read the storm season finishes in November so we should be alright. Have you been at that time of year?
My mates went over there last December when them massive winds hit, I texted them to see if their hotel was ok and they said they don’t know they haven’t found it yet.
Yeah it’s a great time to go been to jamaca I December fantastic weather and we enjoyed what part of the carabean are you going
Love going to Greece and the islands we’ve been going for over 40 years different islands time and time again However you are restricted to certain islands from our airport You can go to many more from Manchester
We went to Ios, flew to Santorini from Newcastle and got a ferry there, only took 30 minutes, less busy and much cheaper than the popular islands. Planning on doing a three week island hop next year when the Mrs raps in work.
The bad time to go to the carabean I would say is June/July —- October/November and I have been in July to barbados and jamaca in November/December and had great weather
Same place. I always go to Runaway Bay but usually in March or April. I've just booked a self catering apartment this time. I like getting out and about over there.
Enjoy mate there is some great islands we’ve never had the opertuniy to see Been to santorini mycnos thassos kalimnos and been Crete Corfu Rhodes kos kefalonia many times Just back from Crete Monday and miss it already
A question for all you lads, hope you can help me with. Our lass and my daughter have just said they are going abroad around the beginning of September. Could you recommend anywhere to go for around the £1500 mark between them as we are going away quite a bit ourselves and money will be a bit tight with this unexpected new holiday. Normally I would go but since we got Lily ( dog ) I don’t like to leave her. Flying from Leeds/ Bradford would be nice but any Northern airport is ok
Always found the canaries to be good value, I did lanzarote in September and wasn’t too pricy was 2014/15 though
