I will be sad to see Oscar and Greaves go. What I don't understand is why we signed so many high earners (last year) if it gave us ongoing FFP problems.

Yes, seems odd to finish 15th and claim we're building/developing a squad only to have to sell some of the new signings in order to comply with FFP.

It's clear that Acun and Tan thought they could come in. Spend a bit of dosh on some european larkers with some quality and turn it around. With an experienced Championship manager from the off it may have been slightly better.

It wasn't helped by the fact that the first half of the season was so intense to compensate for an early world cup and injuries set in. Not to mention our now best players from the last window took half the season to get fit or get going.

The good thing is they've clearly learnt from their mistakes and are not plunging us further into it. They're being as open as they can about it with us to probably set some expectations even though the large majority are only just clocking on.

Just hope the mistakes they made when we allegedly had FFP advantages aren't too costly going forward. It's hard enough to get out of the Championship as it is without blowing any advantage you might have over others.

As others have said I do really think the Allams overstated the headroom. The annoyance for me is the usage of the KLP money I remain willing to see how it pans out

I'm not saying he is the answer. And for sure we need to bring in a quality LB. Perhaps Fleming might get the chance as the back up, equivalent of Coyle to Christie.
    I just ...
    - hope Rosenior gives him a fair chance during pre-season. He was quick enough to give a couple of his favoured 'bad boys' a chance (not suggesting Fleming is a 'bad boy'), one of which was a disaster and tbh I'm not sure why some seem to rate the other so highly.
    - think it's very odd how Fleming went from being a really promising young local talent , even raw shades of a young Andy Robertson (good at bombing forward, improvement to make on defending but not that the defending was that bad) to being ditched and shipped out to Oxford. I don't know but I suspect his head was all over the place at that time, wondering what the hell had just happened, trying to come to terms with it.
TWT so long as he gets a fair chance.

Is it a problem? Or is it just were at the point we need to sell to make significant signings like most other clubs near their FFP ceiliing?

€15 million, apparently there is a possibility of signing vinegar strokes at the end of the loan period.

newspaper O Jogo features a story about this transfer today, they bring a few more details on the negotiations.

It’s claimed that Vinagre is indeed ‘on his way’ to Hull City, as the transfer is ‘very close’ to being confirmed.

The Tigers are reportedly signing the fullback on a loan deal, and will have an option to buy him for €15m next summer.

The player was not in Sporting’s plans for the new season, and wasn’t even called up by manager Ruben Amorim for the squad presentation this weekend.

O Jogo says that since he didn’t receive any offers from the Premier League this time, then he decided to move to the Championship by signing for Hull City.

Vinagre previously played in English football when representing Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton.

Find that hard to believe, they payed 10m and his stock has dropped dramatically.

He might have a blinding season for us and help us go up be a small price to pay if we do get him on a perm.

His goal contributions per minute is only slightly worse than Oscar's in the Champ and he was in a really poor side.

If we sell Oscar and bring in a replacement, a winger and a midfielder to replace him, I don't think anyone would complain regardless of the regime.

You're making out like JCH was a flop at our level

Neither have a lot of the Derby side, he’s achieved more than the entirety of the side as a player whom he coached so if that’s their take on him I’m not surprised they finished outside the play off spots.

If players based their opinions on what a manager achieved as a player Frank Lampard would be one of the most popular managers in the Country.
    It doesn't work like that.

Shota was a very good player. Not sure the City squad gave a knack about what he did with his boots on.

He’s got a terrible attitude and is a disruptive influence in the dressing room, is 29 in a couple of weeks and never scored more than 12 at this level and he’s also lazy as ****. If we’re selling Óscar for decent money, we should buy someone with resale value to be our main striker given the importance the chairman and vice-chairman place on FFP and revenue streams. Clarke-Harris as a replacement for Óscar reeks of Marcus Maddison being a replacement for Bowen.

Has anyone suggested we are in for JCH or is this just random speculation?

Didn’t Van Der Veen run every session instead of Shota? Quite hard to command respect when you don’t do anything.

Rosie talking is hardly a reason to lose a dressing room. Their form under him certainly didn’t suggest he’d lost them either.
