I was correcting the first paragraph for you as you couldn’t see we had gained anything <ok>
Just sit back, smile, and enjoy taking in their tears. No amount of hussy fits is going to change the result, now. We won and that's that.

Bit like yourself with a hatred of everything British.

<doh>

How pathetic.

That's really idiotic.

The people I know personally , on here, would tell you there's no one more patriotic. I took my sons to the World Cup in France and in Germany, flew the flag during my time in France and love this country.

But I'm not stupid enough to believe it's unpatriotic not to fall for the infantile flag waving of the likes of Boris Johnson or think that the Tory party, and only them, are Great Britain.

Criticising the Conservatives isn't criticising everything British ...

... you really need to learn the difference.

Were the Germans who criticised Hitler "unpatriotic", and are those Russians criticising Putin now "unpatriotic" ? :emoticon-0102-bigsm

You use that little face with the hand over the eye quite a lot. You need to start flying the flag here mate not France and Germany.

You're an idiot, sorry but the evidence is undeniable.

If you think praising the government of the last thirteen years is what makes someone patriotic you're lost.

It's ludicrous isn't it ...

... we're supposed to be proud of any idiot waving a flag.

If we don't we're not patriotic <doh>

Boris, Boris, Boris, Boris, Boris, Boris

It’s been said several times but it is an obsession.

Can you imagine any other politician thinking that was a good idea, come to think of it can you imagine any other rational human being doing that? Embarrassing to the point of it being "unpatriotic" :emoticon-0102-bigsm

It's a thread about the Boris who's on the front pages almost every day and who you come on here to talk about.

This is the Boris you've defended who 'got Brexit done', 'beat Covid', 'saved the country', etc, etc, etc.

Of course people talk about him, he was PM a few months back ...

... you still talk about Blair ffs <laugh>

Other threads are available.

'If I wave this flag there's just an outside chance that thick people will think it's patriotic and vote for me' ...

... 'Wow, I can't believe it, this works!'

'Thank you Mr Trump, you were right!'

I think that's is the key to all this countries problems are, whether you voted leave or remain, Labour, tory or whoever, we are all putting our trust in people that will do whatever they can to improve things for themselves and line their own pockets.
There are probably hundreds of people got in to politics with the view of helping the country and making peoples lives better.
Once they are in this world of corruption and lies and realise what you have to do to survive all their morals go out the window.
How many tory mps were behind Boris when they wanted their cushy jobs, once they realised what a pigs ear he was making of things the knives were straight out, how many that backed him knew he was ****e but did so for their own benefit.
When the people running our country are prepared to make huge decisions for their own benefit what chance do we have as a country.
I havnt got a clue what the answer is but at the moment our parliament is probably as far from a solution as you can get
First past the post system doesn’t help. Get in with a reasonable majority and you can almost do what you like for 4 years. Proportional representation would mean any government has to at least compromise and curb the excesses we see. When the government changes parties then the first couple of years wouldn’t at least be spent trying to undo everything that’s just been done by the previous lot.

This has become a regular theme on here recently.

If the current government were halfway capable it wouldn't be mentioned imo.

It becomes a recurring problem with governments. Would Blair have taken us into an illegal war? Would the Brexit vote have happened? Both sides screw up as a good size majority and confidence builds a belief they can get away with more and more.
