I will not be voting Con in the next election, but I wonder how far the pledge to increase the number of nurses and doctors will have got in the next 18 months?
A long way hopefully. When I read about it this morning I had one or two questions about how it would work but it seems a much more achievable goal than the nebulous 'stop the boats'.
Aye and he's in the position to deliver and isn't- its all soundbites and dog whistles to morons - the opposition aren't in a position to be judged but you seem to be pre emptively putting them alongside sunak Truss Johnson failures - clue is they didn't deliver nowt positive for the country - in fact the polar opposite. The opposition can't be judged as they haven't been able to enact any policies - keep supporting the soundbites mate - just 13 years of going backwards under the tories and counting.
Tbf Johnson axed most of the decent tory MPs from prominent positions and surrounded himself with incompetent yes men and women. That's undoubtedly why the UK standing on the world stage is probably at its lowest ebb ever imo.
Of course they can be judged. Or at least scrutinised. Your accusations of bias are nonsense when you aren't willing to look at the party you 'support'.
Same as the 40 new hospitals and the £350 million a week going to the NHS. "levelling up" etc etc. It won't transpire, it will not come to pass, it will not take place. It will not occur. Still the Daily Heil readers and the blue rinse brigade will be frothing at the gash so job done.
Always putting in sly insults. You come across as a very angry person who thinks an awful lot of himself.
You can only judge the party in power - they have literally not delivered a thing for the average UK citizen. Everything's been a lie: 40 new hospitals More police The pledges - hahaha Party of law and order Honesty and integrity while the PM won't turn up to vote on the dishonorable previous PM but 1 Trashing the economy in a day on a whim. Covid PPE scandals and admissions from the former health secretary he didn't have a clue. The former foreign secretary leaving his security detail behind to head off for a party at a Russian agents gaff in Italy. Russian funding into the tory party suppressed by redactions. The next foreign secretary too busy on holiday to get some afghan allies of the UK out of kabul. Where do you draw the and accept they aren't working for us?
This promise is no more! It has ceased to be! It's expired and gone to meet its maker! It's a stiff! Bereft of life, it rests in peace! If you didn't keep bringing it up it'd be pushing up the daisies! It's kicked the bucket, it's shuffled off it's mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible!! THIS IS AN EX-PROMISE!!
Where have I said I haven't accepted they aren't working for us? But your first line is nonsense and the next two are just opinion. And you aren't even judging the the current government, you're criticising without analysis.
You do realise what a political dog whistle is? Small boats is a dog whistle they have manufactured by dismantling any effective immigration system so they can pretend to be trying to be tough on Immigration while demonising anyone pointing out its unlawful, inhumane and an ineffective way of solving the issue. They hope enough voters focus on the dog whistle so they don't ask any questions of the utter corrupt shambles they have presided over while their donors and mates make hay. You do get that - yeah? Just 1 example
That's not what a political dog whistle is and 'stopping the boats' isn't a dog whistle either. It is a placebo though. By claiming they are trying to stop the boats (which in itself is a good thing as it will stop people dying horrible deaths) it makes people who are concerned about immigration think they are doing something about immigration, when in fact it is no ones interest to do that. Referring to this as a dog whistle is, however, politically charged as it implies that the government, and anyone who supports limiting immigration, are more right wing than they actually are.
Poor Rishi was so busy with pledges, promises and priorities that he missed the 7th anniversary of Brexit and he'd been such a fanatical leave campaigner ... ... you'd have thought he'd have been boasting about all the fabulous benefits and how things are so much better now we've cut so many ties with Europe Is that a blue rinse parrot I see before me.
