I suspect the sale of Oscar might be that LR seemed to fancy Tetteh in front of him when he was fit for 5 games...
He creates more for those around him.

We don’t score enough goals, and don’t make a case for a lone striker to be ok and not judge him on goals. You’d judge a keeper on what he concedes. If being a no9 in a system was just about finishing, then Tyler Smith scored a goal every 157 minutes for us last season as opposed to Oscar's 1 in 197.
Not saying the two are comparable in terms of what they contribute overall, but it highlights the importance of other aspects of centre Forward play beyond simple finishing.

Also remember you wouldn’t take a bet for him to hit 15 goals half way through the season when he had 9…..you don’t rate him that highly either![]()
No saying we’d not go for someone more proven mind. But he’s proven himself this season with next to no service at all. Risky swapping someone that you know can score at this level for another unknown quantity. Are we going to get lucky twice?
HmmnI'm just watching th transfer show and Mount going to Manure. They were discussing why so many transfers will be ratified the first week in July with 31 June being the end fo the Football Financial year. If deals are done before 31 June they would affect the FFP for this season. Might explain why nothing has been done until now. First time ive sort of understood it..
If we are to play a back 4 this season and bring in a first choice left back - who plays Left CB. I think most people would say Macca. It also seems that Liam prefers a more dynamic striker than Oscar to suit his system.
Losing Greaves and Oscar on this basis for good fees and increasing the calibre of the 5 or 6 to come in isn’t the disaster some people are suggesting.
The incomings have to justify the outgoings, but having no idea who's coming in then it's a bit premature to judge whether it's good business or not.
I completely agree. I guess the point I was trying to make is that the two we might lose we’re not guaranteed starters.
It wouldn’t have been a huge shock for Macca and Tetteh to start the first game anyway.

Ah the reliable ‘What if’ scenario. What if we get a proven, experienced championsbip or international player as his replacement?
Can't judge the business until its done.
You can’t. But it will be the start of another season with key player changes and I’d question whether there’s time for building team cohesion before the start of the season. It seldom works making a significant amount of changes all the time.
