Really doubt Luton would be willing to pay the fee we'd want, even with their PL money. Think its much more likely he goes for free next summer.

If they were willing to pay the fee and the right salary for him I could definitely see it myself. Might not get another chance at PL.

These teams like Luton and Burnley after our players. **** would you want to go there for. We'll be swapping places with them at the end of the season.

 

Hope we find another gem or two up front, cannot see Stewart staying now and think Semedo unlikely to be ready to make impact straight away.

I don't think they'd pay more than £5m for him now. And I think we'd take the risk of keeping him if that's all they'd offer. It wouldn't just be a gamble on promotion, we'd also be gambling on getting him to change his mind and sign on

 

If we were offered 5 million for him tomorrow I think SAFC would snap the hand right off from the bidder.

 

Yeh, this. It's easy to say "we will be swapping places next season"... but there's no guarantee of that. In fact if you look objectively its probably more likely Luton or Burnley will be in the premier league next year than we will be.

Not saying all our players should drop everything for PL football. Its about finding the right time for them to make the move. I don't think the time is right for Clarke or Ballard. But Stewart could very reasonably (I think) decide he wants to test himself in the PL.

Good lad to have around the squad but nowhere near good enough to start and not as effective as other options we can use on the bench. I must either be pissed too often at the match or be watching something else

 

I wouldn't be that confident on that. Way too many variables. He might be closer to signing that new deal but waiting for the club to offer it again once he's fit.

The red and white specs are strong with this one . Objectively speaking, the likelihood is we won't be getting promoted this season. Granted Luton will probably get relegated and Burnley will also struggle but the fact is these teams are in the Premier League and we're not, unfortunately. If he wants to test himself at a higher level of course he would opt for them over us

Yes the specs were on! But in all seriousness I'm a huge fan of Stewart and don't want him to go, but if he does I don't want to see him at a team that, quite frankly, are just going to get battered week in week out like Luton.
