It's a cracking podcast that. They can sell Akpom to raise a few quid and they've got a top academy too so they can recruit less players
LUE reporting interest in a loan for Maxi Gomez. Surely would mean a forward would be leaving for that?
I noticed during the Rosie interview that he didn't mention Oscar at all, mentioned the likes of Tufan, Traore and Tetteh at certain points but I remember wondering if that omission was meaningful. Im probably just reading too much in to nothing haha.
Rosie isn't the type to use words sloppily. English Football is really ruthless and Rosey will be under no illusions that he's got to have a good season. I'm expecting a really ruthless summer from LR
I don’t think Óscar suits Rosenior’s way of playing. He’s a decent poacher and gets into good positions but he’s not particularly quick, his holdup play is okay but Tetteh’s is much better and he’s actually quite lazy. He doesn’t press much. I think he’ll go this summer.
I disagree, Whilst I think Tetteh iOS better, Oscar has never shirked his chasing duties... He was potent working with Tetteh. We haven't had wide men capable of putting the ball into him, thats been the problem.
LR must be a very special coach cause no one suits his style of play. Óscar, Sinik, Ingram, Greaves, Fleming, Figs, Docherty, etc I am dreading a very difficult season fighting to avoid relegation.
I’m expecting us to cash in on Oscar unfortunately. I’d like to see him here next season with some proper service from proper wingers but I’d say it was fairly unlikely.
To make way for Connolly - so why would we need to drop another striker as Connolly has gone back? And let's face it Smith was never going to meet championship muster. If we can turn a profit on Oscar to bring in a higher profile player then fair enough, but I'm sure just bringing in a 3rd striker to compete wouldn't necessitate selling one of the other 2 per se.
I agree to an extent but if we signed Maxi Gomez on loan, he’d want to be starting every game. There’s really no point having Óscar on the bench as a rotation player. May as well cash-in on him this summer if he’s not the main striker as his value will only go down.
Oscar scored just under a third of our League goals last season. To get rid of him without a suitable replacement signed first, is folly
