There is a conspiracy theory going around saying Biden wanted to keep the story going to deflect interest in the media on his son. It does seem odd that the US navy came out later to say they heard the noise of the implosion but did report it until later.

On a 1 to 10 of conspiracy theories, that's a -6.

You’re right but I do think media outlets focus on certain events to detract from scandals and controversies by a government if they’re sympathetic to that government. I don’t think this is one of them though.

Certainly in the past, politicians, royal family, connected ppl etc would pass on words to editors to keep things out the news or off the front page.

Most articles now are driven by clicks, aren't they?... The more theyre read, the more theyre written about - the Titanic, pending real time deaths, submarine, billionaires... All ingredients for heavily read articles. An example of why we are all contributing to this thread and as someone else wrote, there's nothing on the Greek boat deaths. The Titanic has clearly captured the imagination of a lot of very wealthy, middle aged men.

Well, my brother in law who was won awards for bravery and skill as coxswain on an inshore rescue boat as well as on the lifeboat would say different. But would he know compared to someone stuck in the middle of the country. I remember being at North Landing at Flamborough when a helicopter was dispatched to winch up 3 kids who had drifted out on an inflatable. There were warning signs but parents still don’t stop their kids.,The lifeboat had been launched, people dashing from work with the agreement of their employers and they were transferred to that. When they landed they hopped off and said to their dad “That was a good laugh.” “I bet it was” he replied and off they wandered with not so much as a thankyou.
Saw similar in a documentary about this bloke. I knew a fisherman relative of his. He was not the fine bloke Brian was.

A good friend of mine, Rob Johnson, works for Llanberis mountain rescue. Back in the mid 2000s, they had a call out and someone had fallen and damaged their back, so they had to call out a helicopter available, that was one from Anglesey. They got the woman on the chopper and asked if they could get the easy option of a lift back to base off the mountain ... Pilot turns round and said no problem lads, just buy me a beer, and they saw it was prince william behind the controls.

There's no doubt that sometimes stories are put out to draw attention from other stories, but I think this one just had lots of ingredients that got people interested - Titanic, Billionaire, a submarine that goes over 2 miles under the ocean steered with an X Box controller etc.

Watched the film that was the main song to recently, and 'they' call the youth of today. :emoticon-0125-mmm:

The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.

Cringe making, patronising stuff. As were a lot of films about “the youths”. Most seemed to feature Robert
Morley in them.Remember seeing at the pictures in 1962.

With the knowledge that the mothership and the towed submersible left from a Canadian port, is the Canadian Government not partially responsible due to its provision of departure facilities for a non-regulated submersible albeit heading into international waters.

I've read a few legal documents in my time, some US based, and this looks like it was written by Ehab with his crayons.
