he says in jest.... I hope.

Not really ... he won the Italian play-off with a tactical substitution ... compare that to Brenda's disastrous substitutions e.g. 1-0 up at Bournemouth and in complete control at half time to then lose 4-1 as he invited Bournemouth to come at us in the second half ...

Ranieri never made a poor or unfathomable tactical decision to my recollection...

Doubt he'd want to come back mind, even if invited ...

Fair points, but his misses far outweigh his successes (Thankfully we got his big success). I could also say bring back Nigel, he took us up and kept us up but dont see that being popular either. What I would like is for them to hurry up and make a decision, its this dithering or lack of plan B that put us where we are now.

Nigel was another that lacked a plan B ...

Best tactical managers in my life time ... in sort of chronological order:

Matt Gilles
Frank O'Farrell
Jimmy Bloomfield
Jock Wallace
Gordon Milne
Martin O'Neil
Claudio Ranieri

If it does happen its definetly left-field and a bit risky. Only 14 games in charge at Parma in serie B with only a 28% win rate. I suppose the club would be hoping he inherited some of Pep's stardust and is a Kompany or 23/23 season Arteta without the end bit <laugh>

If it does happen I'll be buzzing ... look at how well Arteta and Vincent Kompany have done... you can learn a lot from Pep! <cheers>

Im no expert but would be my preferred option over others linked. Would be amazing if like rumoured Cambiasso also came, imagine the clout in the transfer market. Any young player would want to come and play for them and then you throw in the training ground.Could be Top and Rudkin are making a statement of intent.

Welcome Enzo <cheers>

It feels a bold appointment. Certainly more exciting than Parker et al. And god knows we've been missing excitement.

Obviously, I don't know much about the fella but his intro comments are upbeat. Hopefully, a clean slate and refresh is the order of the day.

Let's be realistic ... Dean Smith, Scott Parker ... perhaps even Stephen Gerrard, would have felt somewhat uninspiring (although personally I think Gerrard might eventually prove a lot of people wrong) ... but this 'Pep Protégé' appointment will generate a lot of excitement amongst the fanbase and put bums on seats... for the first few home games at least ...

Forza Enzo ... <cheers>

Regarding bums on seats, I was quite surprised to hear our ST retention was 90%. Considering relegation, how absolutely dire we've been and the cost of living crisis, that is a pretty good rate.

Morning all

Just popped in as I thought all hell would have been broken out on your new coach appointment, I’m genuinely amazed you all seem pleased.

For the record, the prospect of Farke or Parker doesn’t excite me, I’d definitely take either over Enzo. I think you need to hope Pep is going to do you some favours in the loan market

I think after all the dross and negativity Rodgers heaped on us last season we’re looking forwards to something a bit different. He may not be an instant Pep, but he’ll have time to rebuild and install his philosophies, I hope. If we look to tap in to the loan market I’d assume Man City will be willing to send some players our way, can’t be a bad thing.
Who do you want to take Leeds forwards?

The alternatives being mooted were singularly uninspiring... the pipeline of coaches that have emerged from Pep's shadow ... Arteta, Kompany ... give some cause for optimism ... Enzo will be given both time and financial backing ... wouldn't have wanted Farke or Parker ... Frank or Jon Dahl-Tomasson, on the other hand ...

Believe it or not I was open to Rogers, I’d love Potter but it’s not going to happen. There are several others I’d like but again, wishing and being realistic are different.

We’re now linked with Farke, Corberan and Parker. I’d have Corberan as first choice and Parker second.

Really wish we’d pulled out all the stops for Franks before Jesse, I wasn’t on board with Jesse from day one. Easy for me to say that but they’ve got to also want to come

Viktor Kristiansen makes his full International debut for Denmark...

Iheanacho and Ndidi help Nigeria qualify for ACON ...

Daka scores for Zambia as they qualify for ACON

Faes and Castagne play in Belgium's clean sheet in Euro qualifying ...

Evans plays for Northern Ireland...

Danny Ward saves penalty in Wales loss ...

Now a couple of those may leave ... but we should be comfortably challenging at the top end of the Championship with the squad we will likely have...
