Sure, those kind of comments can be taken with a little dose of salt because theyre buttering up the fans and their new employers... But it shows that status is something important to him. (He also supposedly turned down offers of more money to come to us).
A few years outside European top tier and the Maccas of future years might go elsewhere and make future transfer windows a little more bleak.
