No LJ didn’t have to, nor did he do a rebuild, he had the nucleus of a good squad, he added to it, firstly with money, he didn’t generate, then later admittedly with money that he did, but he did have the basis to build from. NP has had to completely rebuild the team, get rid of players that aren’t longer affordable, whilst keeping us in the championship, often with 5/6 academy products in the squad. luckily Tinns did an amazing job assembling academy players that were able to step up. To that end he was fortunate, but , and this is where I agree with you, now he has to show he can take us to the next level, but he’s more than earned the opportunity to try. He’s put us on a footing now where our future is much brighter than it was when he took over.

Absolute rubbish, LJ sold Kodji in order to generate the funds to start the rebuild, we didn’t spend much before that, and certainly not big transfer fees.

NP hasn’t rebuilt that much either, the nucleus of the squad since he has been here were already at the club when he joined. What he has done is get rid of a lot - without generating much/any revenue for the club in the process, but he has undoubtedly trimmed the wage bill . Some on here give him massive praise for that, but really all he has done is let their contracts run down, not a hard task.

Rob Dickie is the interesting one, he was always touted as the better out of him and Atkinson in their Oxford days. For me, I'd prefer the lad from Palace, who has been on loan in Belgium

Wait and see next week -should be three new signings two definitely and one almost done.
Exciting times -club needs to kick on under the best manager since Alan Dicks.
I think we might have 3 people sign up ... that the media has postulated are going to arriveand the NP needs to get his act together as he has shown nothing [ although under constraints ]since any manager since prior to 2008 ] certainly not the best manager since AD by a longish bit of chalk!

Let's hope so.. At the least, it is Championship proven depth at CB, something we lacked last season. I would say this points to a Kalas exit though..
I’d rather Kalas stays, but it doesn’t seem likely due to the amount of CB’s we’re allegedly bringing in, although of the 3 touted I think the Palace once is my preferred one.

Dickie looked great for us at the start but has gotten steadily worse to the point of being absolutely dreadful for most of last season. Bloke looks terrified of defending and has the turning circle of a 1973 Ford Sierra.

I don’t wish him any ill though. There’s probably still a player in there if you’re playing deep and in a three at the back. When at his best he’s a decent Championship ball-playing defender. He rarely seems to be injured too, playing 40+ games per season for us.

This is a concerning statement, as I have the same reservations about Atkinson, his old CB partner at Oxford, and will be again at City if this signing happens. A lack of pace in your 2 CB's is not a sign that things will go well defensively.

He played with Rob Atkinson at Oxford-was supposedly the better player-Rob Atkinson has been a quality addition hopefully will like Dickie alongside him.

I agree, but that was in L1 not the Championship. We all know that Atkinson's major deficiency is his pace, so if Dickie is similarly deficient at this level, that has to be a concern, surely?
