I think he took us on because he wanted the challenge of turning us around, he also recognised if he could manage it we have the infrastructure and fan base to really make a success of it. I honestly believe though he didn’t realise until he arrived how much of a job it was going to be. I feel he’s broken the back of it now so I’d be surprised if he left now.not a chance distancing himself from the job -in the middle of a rebuild here -Leicester fans had their time with him let’s hope he can give us a bit of the magic he gave them.
Best championship manager, would love it if he came back to the foxesYou must log in or register to see imagesYou must log in or register to see imagesYou must log in or register to see images

I trust our recruiting process rather more now than I did then, that said what has happened to Wilson?, recruiting from league two is bit of a gamble, it seems to take at least a season for them to adjust to the physicality of the championshipSo did Nick Carle - remember him?
Fantastic on his YouTube channel - questionable in reality…..
I know what you mean, I personally feel really positive this time though, I think NP is the best manager we’ve had for a long time. He seems to have the ability to create loyalty from the players and also the fans. He did used to infuriate me by recognising our faults but seemingly being unable to correct them.
I think he creates an atmosphere where he allows players to be adults and take responsibility for their own performance. Then it’s a case of if you don’t then he’ll give an opportunity to someone else. It’s not a quick fix but over time it sorts out the wheat from the chaff. We now seem to have a Team spirit we’ve been missing really since Cotts imo. Like you I hope it isn’t a false dawn, but I feel really optimistic for this season.
Wait and see next week -should be three new signings two definitely and one almost done.
Exciting times -club needs to kick on under the best manager since Alan Dicks.
What is this statement based on? During his time at City he has not fared higher in the second tier than either of the Johnsons, nor won a trophy as Scott’s did, so what makes him the best since Dicks?
His previous credentials-very simply put we have never had a manager in charge that has achieved what Nige has.
How long did it take Dicks to get a winning team? , LJ didn’t have to do a complete rebuild as NP, or indeed Dicks did. You aren’t comparing like for like. I do agree though NP has to deliver this season. Top 10 min, whilst being in touch with top 6. So far so good though. He’s so far managed to achieve his objectives whilst turning things around off the pitch .He will be the best manager since AD if he achieves higher than when LJ was in charge.....until then........just remember, only since the break from the world cup have we looked a bit decent.....before then it was utter garbage with the threat of relegation.......next season there are no excuses in my book...top 6 expected - top 10 finish is minimum IMO

Or GJ for that matter.
No LJ didn’t have to, nor did he do a rebuild, he had the nucleus of a good squad, he added to it, firstly with money, he didn’t generate, then later admittedly with money that he did, but he did have the basis to build from. NP has had to completely rebuild the team, get rid of players that aren’t longer affordable, whilst keeping us in the championship, often with 5/6 academy products in the squad. luckily Tinns did an amazing job assembling academy players that were able to step up. To that end he was fortunate, but , and this is where I agree with you, now he has to show he can take us to the next level, but he’s more than earned the opportunity to try. He’s put us on a footing now where our future is much brighter than it was when he took over. Are you serious, LJ didn’t have to do a rebuild….we were heading back to the 3rd division when he took over, he did as much of a rebuild as NP has, and yes he spent (and recouped more), he also went to the last day of the season twice with a chance of the play-offs, albeit slim and never in City’s control.
What he didn’t have to do was trim a bloated squad as NP has - that’s the only difference, but the board expectations for NP have been far lower so far. I think that will, and should change for next season.
