The contract stipulates that the IOC expect all stadiums to drop any commercial name before the Olympic events are held there. Seeing that the contract between the three parties (IOC, BOC and Newcastle United) was signed before this name change then perhaps Mike can't actually change it because SJP is the legal name in the contract.
