Im cheered up now. Seeing all the Mackems trying to detract from their lowly club is flipping hilarious. Bet if you ask the good ones they would gladly swap places with us mind.

As a footnote to my last post, this season is the first where I have bought my 6 year old a season ticket and i love telling her about all the good times at SJP that ive seen over the years. Indeed i richy look forward to her enjoying many more good times of her own in future years at our SJP.......

Keep smiling lads, we are third and part of the greatest fan base in the word... perspective indeed in my eyes.

This is why it is going to be an epic fail; if Sky Sports are not going refer to it as the Sports Direct Arena and none of the journos will, it is just going to be forgotten that the 'official' name is Sports Direct Arena because everyone will still be calling it St James' Park as they should.

Hate the idea of changing the name. It will always be St James' Park to me.

I can understand the temptation to go after the revenue though, it is the last untapped source of potential revenue and it could make the difference long-term between us being european regulars or also rans. Might be possible to do without the extra money but there in no doubting that an extra £8m to £10m per annum will help.

I think we will find that within a few years all the major clubs will have gone down this road because money is more important to the game today than it has ever been.

    I don't like it though!

On about Jeff refusing to call it anything other than SJP I assume? <laugh> Without the above link it does look pretty out of context <laugh>

    "What a stupid name!"
"It'll always be St James' to me"
    "I like beans!!!!"

£4 million loss before accounting for player sales in the last financial yers, therefore about a £20 million profit afters player sales, thouhg before tax.

That operating loss was expected to be the last due to reduced wage bill and also because it included the last few months of the Champiuonship season, and hence slightly understated operating revenuie compared with full seasons in the prem.

NUFC wipes its feet without any revenue from stadium advertising, which of course it will not receive from Sports Direct

Don't know if this has been posted but it sums up my feelings perfectly, I agree with the logic, but it is morally wrong, can you imagine them selling the rights for old trafford or anfield?

Honestly? Yes. Stamford Bridge is next up and Chelsea are one of the richest clubs in the country. Liverpool have been talking about moving for years so they're more likely to abandon Anfield than rename it (I'm happier with the rename), but I don't think its too big a stretch to see it happening to Manchester United. I don't think they've spent all 'the Ronaldo money' yet either...

It is possible to retweet...and feck it, I could even go on his profile and read what he's put...without following him.

Yes but they're moving to new stadia, if we were moving then I wouldn't be opposed to a stadium sponsor
