Summer window aside, what do you think the club should be doing between now and the start of next season in terms of preparation and why?

    1. Full review of medical facilities & practices, including management of individual players' fitness, training and post match recovery. Reinstall the cryochamber - injuries have really done for us this year and there's no point having an exciting young team if you can't get them on the pitch often enough. A pre-season physical preparation like the Di Canio medical team's would have seen us promoted imho.

    2. Pre-season starts today. Yes, there may be two or three weeks holiday, but we have to impress upon these lads the necessity to keep themselves right over the break. Quite a few of them could be doing with being a lot stronger, for example.

    3. A few days of 'debriefings' for the players before they go away - what went well over the season, what didn't, and what we want from them next year and agree a course of action to achieve that. For example - the new centre half who looks like he'd go over in a strong breeze. Three months to get bigger and stronger.

Get Mowbray secured and put to bed all the silly rumours, the players will clearly run through brick walls for him. They will go on holiday knowing he is still the man and will clear all uncertainty surrounding the crazy suggestion we may let him go. That should be the clubs 1st decision

Agreed. We'll have a lot of rework to do if we change the manager now. There'll be a time, but it isnt now, unless he wants it to be.

If Alese was fit enough for the bench he should have started imo. Im not buying this talk about him not playing for 10 weeks so he can only play a certain amount of minutes. Hes a professional athlete ffs, and he had 90 minutes of football to play followed by 11 days off. If hed have had no training at all then fair enough, but he was back last week. He should have been banging Moggas door down declaring himself fit, because him starting could have been the difference in us going up and gaining over 100m in Sky money, or staying where we are.
It was obvious that backline that started last night would not be able to keep them at bay.
Im also confused how Cirkin is constantly picking up injuries, along with Ballard.

Footballers in the 80s would play about 3 games a week and most teams picked the same 11 every single game in those days. I get players get injured, but theres got to be a line drawn in how badly injured are they, and could they man up and get through 90 minutes.
Last night we were 2 games away from a financial windfall and Premiership football again. These opportunities dont come along very often, and when they do you want a squad of players wanting to go to battle.
The amount of players we had out last night was an absolute pish take.

Think we are all like that at the minute

No matter what happens they need to make a decision soon, either come out n say hes staying or sack him - not fair on anyone having it hanging over us

At least if we do change coaches it's because it's part of a long term well thought out strategy rather than because we're a basket case of a club like we have been in the not too distant past.

Still absolutely think we should stick with Mowbray but if he does go it would be easier to accept knowing it's part of a plan to grow the club.

Disagree personally, I think we could have done with him this season. Strength and creativity in the middle as an alternative to Pritchard when the games are more physical.

Would love to see him back and kick on a bit.

Ballard first injury out of the 2 he’s had all season was the result of a criminal act of assault by that QPR guy and had nothing whatsoever the club could have any control over.
Don’t understand the feeling that it’s somehow the clubs fault when players get injured ffs.

Most of the injuries are impact ones, which you can't do anything about

Cirkin's month out with concussion was as a result of a criminal assault by the Millwall goalkeeper and the club had no control etc etc.
See the recurring theme here linking players injuries and playing football.
If there was a problem in them all being injured during training then I could understand the concern.

Evans injured his anterior cruciate ligament against Boro too, not training related.

Its ridiculous how unlucky we have been.

I can only think of LND being injured in the warm up v Boro which has cost a player time away when not as a result of match day contact.
Young Embleton broke his ankle in an inoccuse challenge against Blackpool
The list is endless this season and a massive factor in last nights result
Bringing players back before they’re ready is also a stupid idea.
